Mandeville is definitely servicable. FHS is ok, I guess. I'm not going to get in to Slidell.

Clearly you're biased, you even admitted to being from Covington. I, on the other hand, am not from Metairie nor do I live there. I apologize if my opinion offended you. Sometimes the truth hurts though. At the end of the day, the initial argument in this conversation was that Covington is boring and it is. That's really all there is to this topic. If it wasn't boring then more people would be clammering to move there and the property value would be much higher.

These comments about the schools in Covington always make me laugh. People who day CHS is so bad clearly have never been to a real inner city school. And not just in NO. BR is equally as bad in that regard.

No it was not. There was an open ended question about Covington. Metairie folks who are butthurt about what their city has become made it into a "Covington is boring" conversation.

Actually, you're wrong. I brought Metairie up first. I live in New Orleans. At no time did I ever say I was from Metairie or ever lived there.

And Jefferson Parish schools are better than Sudan's, but what does that have to do with anything? Just because they are better than something else doesn't mean they are good.

People who bash the schools here usually have no idea what they are like because they either a) send their kids to private school from preK on or b) have never been to a real bad school.

Based on what? I grew up in JP, and wouldn't dare send my kid to any public school there. I live in STP now, and probably wouldn't waste my money sending my kid to private school here. The public schools are worlds apart.

While living in Covington was one of the worst experiences of my life, living in Matairie would be a whole other level of Hell.

Exactly. I was the first person in this thread to bring up Metairie. I don't live there. I'm just saying if I had to chose, I'd live there over anywhere on the Northshore. I'd obviously prefer New Orleans over any other Louisiana city, which is why I currently live there.
