In Bayou Blue if you live on the Lafourche side you go to Central. The Terrebonne side could be one of 3 depending if it is upper, middle, or lower bayou blue.

Don’t do it. Try to get on at Thibodaux Regional. Nice hospital with a lot of expansion happening.

I know that I was asking which of those possibilities was the poster referring to when he said Bayou Blue has access to the best high school in the area.

Terrebonne probably spends more on mosquito control than any other parish, really helps keep their numbers down.
To compare Houma with Thibodaux, they both have several good local restaurants, but Houma has far more chains. Thibodaux has Nicholls, or as the locals call it Nicholls College, which provides educational, cultural, and sports events Houma doesn’t get. The schools otherwise are about the same. Houma does have a great Mardi Gras. And the Fiesta lives on in legend.

Yeah I lived at the Landing. Really nice complex. Management was a pain sometimes.

It’s getting older and wore out.

Lived their for 6 years. I had a good relationship with the management at the time and they took care of me. I think they are all gone now. Wasn't a bad complex.

I believe that. I did have to yell at a couple crack heads neighbors who were moving out furniture at 3am one time.

They did have a pain in the butt rent policy. Due on the 1st, no exceptions. Most places do 1st-5th.

Houma is not as bad as some people make it out to be. My biggest piece of advice is to learn how to play Pedro (cut throat). It’s the proper way to play Pedro.

Back in the day, you could get a whole lot more than a drink or 10 at that place....so I’ve been told.

My grandpa used to pick up OT1s at the Fiesta back in the day. Is it still open?

Houma>>>>>>>Ellick and you will have access to everything you would ever need plus proximity to world class fishing waters, but seriously.... buy a house in Thibodaux.

Unfortunately for us in Lafourche our knuckleheads in parish gov't and school board keep cutting more and more from the schools, won't be the best for long at the rate they are going.

We got a few new Knuckleheads, Perilloux and Autin, in there so hopefully they do some good. Need a fresh face as Parish President to get us going.

Fiesta was tore down.

I grew up on the East side. Went to St Matthews and Vandebilt. I haven’t lived in Houma in 20 years, but my parents and brother do. Hasn’t changed much. I certainly wouldn’t live on the East side. Although they do have the worlds best mom&pop hardware store in Davidson’s Hardware. Mr Poboy is good too.

Yes there’s a Target, unless that one is closeing too. Mr Ronnie’s donuts is great. A-Bear’s Cafe is good eating. If you can’t find fish down there you need to sell your gear and take up golf or bowling league at creole lanes.

Oh, and the traffic can be bad in that little town.

Some of the funniest people I met at LSU were from Houma. None of them moved back after graduation.

Me too, Village East. I wouldn't live there now.
