Someone already said it, but you can and should rent or charter boats. Unless you're an avid boater you'll come out WAYYYY ahead.

I have had mine a year and I am ready to sell. People joked that the best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. It is true :(

Docking in the wind is a PITA with a big boat. Practice on a calm day before you head to the Prop Stop.
Trailer boats are pretty easy, depending on size.
Anything over 22' and it's hard to launch by yourself.
