Once was told this about parenthood:

At 5, you are their hero

At 15, you are a zero

At 25, you are their hero again

We explained sneaking out and walking around the neighborhood is how girls get kidnapped.

Additionally, if she's sneaking out of the window, she's leaving it unlocked to return which puts the entire family at risk.

Ask her how her life would look if you hated her? See if that's a reality check for her. If it's not then make it a reality check.

That's what happening.
We were going to shop for school clothes at the Galleria.
Also rented a cabin a Lake Claiborne for her 16 yr old party.
Both are history.

They all do. She will like you again, and even respect you, once she’s an adult. My daughter and I enjoy hanging out now that she’s grown. We go to lunch once a month or so and can just chill and visit and watch a movie and enjoy each other. Teenage years can be rough.

Kidnapping is way down, but it is how they get high and pregnant. I will say that rarely a day goes by that my teen boys dont receive a text from a set of females out walking the neighborhood after 10 pm.

Boys will all of a sudden get up or come out of their room, "where you going?" Reply. "shoot baskets, play ping pong, get something out of outside fridge"

A few minutes later look out and there are girls in the driveway.

20 years ago I would’ve said give her a break.

I am watching so many crime shows now where it’s clear the female was a one and done for the killers who stumbled across the opportunity and took it.

Sounds like you are daring to parent. Keep going!

She will thank you for it.

Eventually.

my daughter never went thru it. She was always a breeze

The boys are moody at 13 or so. But by 15 I enjoy em, they are wild as hell, but so was I. But overall I find that age really fun. I don’t listen to their bullcrap. They are mostly full of shite.

Mine did the sneaking out thing last year. We contacted the police and had her and the little friend that was meeting up with her read the riot act by two local cops. Trespassing, out past curfew, whatever else they could think of. Had their IDs recorded too. Wink, nod and a handshake with the cops (who seemed to be thrilled to help) but she was shaken up. Installed surveillance everywhere covering our yard. Informed the neighbors and grandparents who live nearby. Took all of her stuff and grounded her for what seemed like forever but was about 6 weeks. Waited for signs of major humility, lesson learned etc. then she slowly got stuff back. She’s still capable of an I hate you but we just tell her either good or I love you back. Sign I am doing my job as a parent. This shall pass!
