If it is german I apologize to the board.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A Chicago teenager who appeared in an award-winning anti-violence video was in critical condition in a hospital on Sunday after he was shot in the back by a stray bullet near his home on Chicago’s West Side, police and local media said.

Zarriel Trotter, 13, who police said was shot Friday night, appears in a minute long YouTube video with several third- through seventh-grade African-American boys discussing their feelings toward gun violence and homicides.

Serious question, does BLM protest for these types of shootings?

Shame, wonder if it was truly a "stray" bullet.

BLM might be the biggest misnomer since someone coined the phrase "jumbo shrimp."

Only if the stray bullet was fired by a white or whitish looking cop.

Only if a cop or a honky was the gunman.

Yes they actually do. I have a few teacher friends (that are black) and that work in Chicago and Baltimore and they post pictures of numerous peaceful walks through violent neighborhoods. They are involved in school, church and community outreach programs. So to answer your stupid sarcastic bigoted fricking question yes black people do protest black on black crime.

The question wasn't whether black people protest these types of shootings.

It was if Black Lives Matter does.

The answer is a resounding no, they do not

I don't give a shite if you believe me or not, but it was actually a serious question. Thanks for the post, but you sound mad.

You have to define BLM in the first place.

I am a pretty conservative guy who strongly dislikes that group and what they're doing to the body politic, but I live here in Chicago, and I see a lot of the same people connected to the local BLM movement making waves after every shooting like this. They are smarter than you give them credit, and they actually do care about this stuff.

It boils down to the equilibrium principle. What deviates from the norm so drastically as to call public attention? It's the same reason why dramatic terrorist attacks in Paris get wall-to-wall coverage while a similar act in Lahore or northern Nigeria doesn't. We expect that stuff in Lahore; we don't expect it in Paris, and when it does happen, it gets global coverage. That is simply the way that communications work in influential countries.

Its not hard to define the Black Lives Matter organization at this point.

While you may know people "connected to the local BLM movement" that take objection and point out shootings like this, the fact is that the Black Lives Matter movement think this is the result of police brutality and racial profiling instead of a fault of the communities plagued by it.

You make a good point, but why don't we hear the level of outrage over these type deaths from Al, Jesse and Barack? Why aren't they marching and organizing over black on black crime? They only seem to care when the shooter is a white cop.

Unfortunately most don't. However there are many black organizations, churches, and initiatives that do have rallies, conferences, protests etc. they don't gain steam in the mainstream media, nor does the OT have them on the radar. However you can bet if just two BLM people have a meeting or or make a video, the OT will be all over it.
