The latest data on opioid-related overdose deaths in the US has produced a startling detail: Opioid overdose deaths in adolescents rose far more rapidly than the general population between 2019 and 2021, according to a new analysis of mortality data released by the CDC.
Data showed that deaths from opioid overdoses in teens aged 14 to 18 increased by a staggering 94% between 2019 and 2020 and by an additional 20% between 2020 and 2021.
Per the data, the biggest driver of the deaths was the fentanyl in the drug supply. The synthetic opioid that's 80x - 100x more powerful than morphine has been linked to 77% of all adolescent opioid overdose deaths since 2021. During the timespan examined by the study, adolescent opioid deaths increased by a staggering 350%.
The number of forensic drug reports testing positive for fentanyl has skyrocketed in recent years from under 20,000 in 2015 to 117,045 in 2020. A recent study from the National Institutes of Health found that the number of individual fentanyl pills seized by law enforcement increased nearly 50x from the first quarter of 2018 to the last quarter of 2021.

The cartels are getting the chemicals to make it from the Chinese, and sometimes the finished product itself.
In the 1800s the European powers (principally the English and minimally the US) fought with China to preserve their "right" to sell opium to the Chinese citizens. The Chinese government wanted to stop this drug trade which was devasting their people.
Now the Chinese are doing the same to us and the porous border makes it easy.

Doing heroin or cocaine was an extremely stupid decision even before it may have been laced with fentanyl. People that try to rationalize it as having fun when they are young are morons.

Likelihood of death from even a single experience truly has to be reconsidered. It’s going to put a lot more burden on parents to have some very real conversations with their kids.

It’s easy to say it’s people’s own fault, but from what i’ve seen, people don’t even know they are ingesting the fatal dose. Kids have bought weed from other kids for years and it was assumed to be safe. I had one mom tell me her son took one toke and was dead within minutes. I remember my friends buying ecstasy tabs and acid, too, back in the day. The worst unexpected surprise was that it was fake, as in did nothing. Not that it would kill you in minutes. This shite doesn’t make sense. Why sell something even stronger than what the buyer wants? It makes me seriously wonder if death is the goal.

weed isn't laced with fentanyl. she's lying, and so are you.
and if this was even remotely true, then what likely happened was murder, not an accidental overdoes of fentanyl from weed.
