Teen beats registered sex offender, now faces hate crime charges

agree or disagree with the hate crime charge?
Teen definitely started shite he had no business starting, but a hate crime charge? Doesn't that imply that child molesters are a persecuted minority?

Soon, extreme lefties will try to push and normalize child predators/pedophilia. It's already happening.

After looking up those articles, I am no doubt, now on a list somewhere.

He should absolutely be charged with a hate crime. Vigilante justice is not okay under any circumstances.

Just because it's not a hate crime, doesn't mean it's not a crime.
Calling it a "hate crime" is stupid. If you call this a "hate crime," then literally any battery or assault would be a "hate crime," which makes the entire concept of hate crimes null and void (which I think they should be).
Someone punches a non-handicapped person for parking in a handicapped spot? Hmmm...sounds like a hate crime.

yeah, I don't get it.
For the record, not all sex offenders are the same. We had one on my old street that was a sex offender because he had sex with his 16 year old girlfriend when he was 19.
Not defending it, but life being ruined by being on a registry for that seems ridiculous.
Do we know if this guy beat up a violent rapist or kiddie diddler? Or did he beat up a guy who boinked his high school girlfriend and her dad pressed charges?

This teenager lied to the cops about this sex offender allegedly raping someone he's related to and claimed that was his excuse for beating him up.
This sex offender was minding his own business and not hurting anyone. He's no different than you and I out in public.

Where does being a registered sex offender fit into these classes for it to be a hate crime?

Should be charged and convicted of assault. Hate crimes are bullshite.
