The average pay for a teacher in Louisiana is $55,000. Look it up. That is 2024 numbers.
Hell in Ascension you need 10 years and a master's degree to hit that number or 11 without. Parishes manipulate those numbers to promote how much they pay. Many central office staff who don't step foot in a classroom are labeled teachers and make more than the average classroom teacher which skews the numbers. In Livingston a teacher would have to work 17 years without a master's to hit 55k or 14 with a master's.
