Is this fair to you?

quote:

It was a busy time at Evans Pool around 5:30pm Monday February 8. The pool was open for lap swim. According to Seattle Parks and Recreation, a man wearing board shorts entered the women's locker room and took off his shirt. Women alerted staff, who told the man to leave, but he said "the law has changed and I have a right to be here."

"Really bizarre," MaryAnne Sato said. "I can't imagine why they would want to do that anyway!"

Sato uses the locker room a few times a week, but she says this is a first for her. It's also a first for Seattle Parks and Recreation. Employees report that the man made no verbal or physical attempt to identify as a woman, yet he still cited a new rule that allows bathroom choice based on gender identification.

Let's say you take your wife and daughter to the gym. Would you be fine with some dude walking into the ladies locker room while your wife and daughter were in there naked and getting changed themselves?

of course not

that is why this is such an issue, its not just black or white

I was just illustrating, based on your comment that I quoted, that in that scenario, the very masculine, tatted up person in that picture would be next to your daughter

If a guy follows my little girl into the women's restroom then I'm kicking his arse.

Well I don't know what sort of physique this guy in Seattle has. But he just pranced right into the women's locker room at the pool right in the middle of the afternoon when they'd be plenty of both women and little girls in there in various stages of undress.

Does your wife ever take your daughter to a public pool? I ask because if this "transgender" crap is allowed to go on, next time it could your wife and or daughter who some guy decides he wants to see naked or have them see him naked. And when that happens, if your wife or yourself have the gall to say something to him, it will be you branded as the sick person.

Never thought I would see the day when grown adults would throw a fit because men aren't allowed in the women's restroom.

Neither of those things have used their respective bathrooms in years and I would guess most of the population is okay with that.

What people are freaking out about is Target's new policy opens to door for Chester the Molester to throw on a wig and makeup and walk right in the the woman's room.

I haven't been to a public locker room in a long time...do they not have changing stalls? Do people completely naked after they swim?

I mean...I get the issues and I get the fear of these laws being abused, but I honestly don't know how much of a problem this actually is

if people abuse the laws, those people will still face criminal charges

if Chester the Molester walks into a women's bathroom and start peeping on little girls, taking pictures, jerking of in the stall next to girls, etc

guess what? he will be arrested

the same way he would get arrested if he walked into the men's room and did the same thing to little boys

Still didn't say if he was "muscled up" or not, just that he didn't look like a woman.

No

So no gym memberships for you and yours then I guess. I and guess none of your daughter's friends will ever have a birthday party down at the local pool or the gym where their parents are members either. And I guess you'll never allow your daughter to join a swim team either.

I have no idea how the ladies locker room at our local gym is set out. But I imagine it's about the same as the men's which is rows of lockers against the walls with benches in front of them. Most locker rooms are pretty much wide open I believe.

What criminal charges did the guy in Seattle face? He just walked into a crowded women's locker room where women were getting changed and started getting naked himself. They couldn't even get the man to leave. In fact, he came back a second time....

quote:

No one was arrested in this case and police weren't called, even though the man returned a second time while young girls were changing for swim practice.

I guess it's not considered "abusing" the law if he just goes and sits in the corner while these young girls change into their bathing suits.

We both have gym memberships. Neither of us get naked unless we shower, and they have stalls for showers.

As for the rest, I never said any of that.

They kicked him out of the locker room.

Was he allowed to sit there and watch them?

that article sounds like he wanted the attention.

just because someone has the right to use a bathroom doesn't mean they have the right to creep around a kids swim practice.

Even if something like this happened. All you need is an adult to say "alright we will wait for them to leave"

I would do the same if I felt some uncomfortable with a creepy dude in the men's room around kids. We were thought do that when I lifeguarded.

No they didn't. They tried to but he cited the new law in Seattle and there was not a damn thing they could do....

Women alerted staff, who told the man to leave, but he said "the law has changed and I have a right to be here."

Well, from the sounds of the story, yeah. He went back into the locker room just as a bunch of little girls were in there getting changed into their bathing suits. They never called the cops nor could they compel him to leave. He had the law on his side. Basically this "transgender" got to go in there and watch a bunch of children get undressed and the law says he can do it whenever he wants now and there's not a damn thing anyone can legally do to stop him.

Once again, from the article....

Looks to me like according to this new law all some sicko has to do is "identify" as being transgender and they have free reign over the lady's bathroom and locker rooms irregardless how many women or even little girls are in there. You might be comfortable with some dude watching your wife and daughter get changed into or out of their bathing suit, but I for one am not.

this in no ways implies that he was allowed to go back in

Where did you get this?

He can cite laws all he wants, doesn't mean they allowed him back in

quote:

I have no idea how you are getting this from the article you linked

People complained. The business asked him to leave. He can cite laws all he wants, but from how I comprehend it, he eventually left because the business and the patrons kept complaining.

Are you being obtuse or are you really not understanding the article? I've even quoted it multiple times. Here read it again.....

quote:

No one was arrested in this case and police weren't called, even though the man returned a second time while young girls were changing for swim practice.

They tried to get him to leave, he didn't. And when some little girls showed up for swim practice he even went back. He was not arrested and in fact the cops were not even called.

quote:

There is nothing in that article to indicate he was compelled by anyone to leave. In fact the article says the exact opposite of what you say you comprehend it to say. They asked him to leave, he cited the new law and at that point there was nothing they could do to get him to leave.
