When it's a public safety issue, sometimes you need more than after the fact punishments, you need stronger deterrents and preventive measures. Especially when the potential harm involves behavior that is often considered compulsive in nature.
I mean, we have laws against speeding but still have speed bumps in places. We have laws against guns in the courtroom but I still have to go through the metal detector.

We've already covered this. As things have always stood, if a man goes into a women's restroom he will be at least branded a sicko, publicly shamed, kicked out of the store and perhaps even arrested. In other word, today there are negative consequences that keep many sickos from entering into women's bathrooms. If the "trans" movement gets their way, now those men will be legally protected to go into women's bathroom and anyone who does not like it will themselves be the ones who face negative consequences.

So...if I'm a guy..and one day I 'feel' like a woman...that means I can go into the woman's restroom at Target just because I "feel" my identity closer aligns with women rather than men?
