It could be true.. Court orders are nothing to frick around with.

And OTOH, family court judges are basically dictators who will do whatever they goddamn please.
Which isn’t good when one side or the other has connections to the judge.

The dad paid the girls cell phone bill. The daughter got told to open the phone so he could see through the phone and she wouldn’t. He took the phone away. The mom then bought her a trap phone

Why is the cellphone an issue?

I feel like this is either the most inept court in Louisiana(and that's saying something) or there needs to be A LOT more to this story than parenting disagreements over a cell phone.
And regardless if she is the most unfit mother in the state, there is zero excuse for the police department and court to essentially hide the rapists records under seal and refuse to investigate despite a sworn admission and irrefutable DNA evidence of, at a minimum, felony statutory rape.

Dad probably doesn’t want his daughter banging 30 year olds when she’s 16 at bars like her mom did. Can’t blame him for looking out for his teenage daughter.

He was 30. Since youve moved the situation out of a restaurant and into a bar, lets see what could happen.
In the police report filed by the girl, she explicitly says she was at a bar and in WBRZ's newscast they say it was a bar. The only place restaurant was mentioned is in the online WBRZ article. That is some weak-arse inconsistent reporting.

Interesting
You know Google works on algorithms that cater to your past searches huh? Wonder why Google seems to think you'd be into homoerotic material?

more projection
Actually, it isn't projection, it is entirely inconsistent with the facts. In both the police report and TV interview, the girl explicitly states she got intoxicated with two friends who left her at the bar before Barnes offered her a ride. At no point does she say he bought or offered her a drink.
DISCLAIMER: I know this can be construed to make him look more creepy. I am not defending him, so before accusing me of being a rapist apologist, please watch the damn interview and read the damn police report. God forbid we base some of these rants on the few facts available.

Does anyone else think it interesting that the organization defending her in the article pulled their GoFundMe page for the alleged victim?

The crime is Carnal Knowledge of a juvenile and there is a felony or misdemeanor.
He was clearly in the codified felony range. It is a misdemeanor is when the perpetrator is within 2-4 years of the victim's age.
Is it correct to assume, due to DNA results, he has confessed to being guilty of Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile? If so, does that meet the legal definition of rape as it applies to the law preventing custody of the child conceived in that act?
I am not white knighting for anyone, I am only trying to conceive of a legal reason why a judge granted him full custody.

I mean I did watch the report. Her words were: I was at a bar, my ride wanted to go home, the guy offered to take me to my home later, she stayed, he took her to his house, not hers, and raped her, which produced a kid and DNA evidence unequivocally proves he was 30, she was 16 at the time.
Even if she consented and is lying about that part, the law is clear on this, it was felony statutory rape. The only thing in question is if it was forced/date rape.
But I also cant get over the irony of him in a court battle over cell phones, now trying to monitor and control his 16 year old daughter's phone from guys presumably just like him. The dude clearly knows he was a POS and wouldn't want his daughter ending up like he did to his mom.
