Yep.
It's funny as hell flying back from Denver and you see the dog come out to help TSA.
People instinctively get nervous for a second before realizing the dog is not sniffing for drugs. Then they get happy b/c when the doggy is present it means you get to keep shoes/belts/laptops in place. Sniff away good boy.

Why are you flying with edibles if they are legal at your destination?

I do it all the time. TSA isn't really checking for it so you're good. If you're flying out of a airport where it's illegal, they could call the cops on you though.
To be absolutely safe what I do is buy a resealable bag of regular candy and mix in my gummies with that. No one is gonna look inside your own food and if they do they wouldn't really be able to prove it's THC laced.

I did witness a dog nag a guys backpack at security in Phoenix.
I've carried more than I should a few times. I'm not checking it.
I'd rather it be on my person and I'm not worried about those dogs.

I travel with them in my luggage all the time to Texas and LA. No issue for me

Put it in your wife’s bag at drop off, duh.

Buy a pack of airborne and stuff the gummies into the tube. Just did it today.

You can go to a CBD/Hemp Shop and get legal Delta-8 gummies that work just as good. So why risk it?

this utterly, and entirely untrue.

TSA is not actively looking for marijuana when you go through airport security.
However, if they discover that you have marijuana they may refer you to local law-enforcement. Depending on the state and local laws, you could be subject to criminal prosecution, have your stash confiscated, or simply not face any consequences.

Simply put, carrying marijuana onto an airplane, regardless of state laws, can be charged as a federal crime. The moment that the plane lifts off into the sky, all passengers are on federal territory. A bad situation can only get worse if the plane lands in a state where pot is illegal.
SEVERE CONSEQUENCES FOR AN INNOCENT MISTAKE
The policy of some airports is to allow the outbound passenger to keep the drug, provided that it is one ounce or less. In California, the TSA is trained regarding small amounts of cannabis that can be possessed by adults who are traveling within the State (up to one ounce.
Going through the TSA line is stressful enough without an agent finding marijuana in a suitcase or travel bag. While they do not actively search for illegal drugs, the discovery obligates them to report it to law enforcement who have broad discretion on whether to arrest individuals or just take the cannabis and let you go on your way. The length of the detention, however, even if not leading to an arrest, often results in passengers missing their flights, creating further inconvenience and expense.

ve had dogs sniff my stuff several times. Nothing. They're looking for weapons and explosives.
I agree that explosives are their higher priority and that may be all most airport dogs are looking for, but too risky for me. I did not see what was in the guys bag, he was removed from the security line. But I do know when going through security all your pockets must be empty, any jackets or carry-on are going through the x-ray to be inspected where they will see a tiny pair of nail clippers or a book of matches if they are in there. Even if dogs are no problem, I hope you don't get a TSA guy having a bad day.

If you've been lucky enough to purchase edibles in California you'd understand. The choices there dwarf what you can find in states that are medical marijuana only.

What exactly are we risking if you take a small amount from a legal state to wherever in the US?
What's really going to happen?
In my mind, not a damn thing.
Posted on 9/12/22 at 2:33 pm to IamPatman
I'm willing to bet that the number of people that have gotten prosecuted for bringing edibles through TSA in a legal state is less than .00000000000001%.

Britney Griner posted the same thing about a little vape pen.
Even if the risk is minimal...why take a chance when there are legal options?
And to the poster who said it's not the same with Delta-8 gummies...You must be high. The ones I had work fine.

Edibles are fine bro. Flower you might want to reconsider. First off it can smell second I think the new screeners can pick it up. The old scanners didn't pickup organic material.

Bro, there is one MASSIVE difference between Griner's situation and what the OP is asking about. And you know that.
