Let's say all marijuana related laws were thrown out that would less laws to enforce
Most marijuana-related arrests are triggered by some other offense...traffic violations, domestic issues, warrants, etc. Making marijuana legal wouldn’t significantly reduce the amount of police-citizen interactions.

I didn't say anything about individual police, I said police unions. You need to improve your comprehension skills
Real quick, if you have time, who do those police unions represent?
Secondly, what’s the goal of a union in relation to the individuals it represents?

As far as legalization of marijuana is concerned.... there’s a reason why the sheriffs always act like it’s such a terrible thing that turns you into a junkie and kills you. That reason is jobs.

I can tell you that my state shut down a speed trap city next to me and 15 cops lost their jobs because they funded the police with traffic ticket revenue.
This is what I am saying. There are many things that can be done to reduce policing.
Also, within police departments, does each officer have to meet certain numbers each month? Issue so many tickets, maybe make so many arrest, etc? If I sound like I don't know what I am talking about, its because I don't. But I am just asking questions. My point of this is asking about reducing the number of "negative" interactions police have with people, for their best safety interest as well.
If they don't have to stop as many people, that reduces the chances of having to interact with some crazy frick who might start shooting at the police, etc.

Okay. Well can you explain your initial comment?

I love how potheads overvalue their role in the criminal justice system like dealing with weed is a big part of cop's job. They just get the low hanging fruit with you idiots. As long as some cultures remain uneducated and don't wish to get a real job along with idiots acting a fool on other drugs, cops will always be plenty busy.

If you legalize marijuana in BR , folks will murder each other over something else. Police don’t need Illegal marijuana To be employed and they damn well know it. Small property crimes are enough to keep them busy all day long.

Who would you say has the biggest incentive in having something criminalized?
Moral people. Who don’t like murder, theft, rape, arson, assault, drug addicts that commit these crimes, liars, cheaters, people who endanger others and so on... laws aren’t incentivized by money, but by a better life that persons and their families can be comfortably raised in.

The courts and private prisons want pot to be illegal. Cops, not so much.

Cops? No.
But the prison system and feds absolutely benefits off the "War on Drugs".

I know the number of people in jail for marijuana is low..
In 2019 it was the second lowest primary drug involved is federal drug sentences. Crack was the lowest.

They want more speeding tickets and parking violations and crap like that. They definitely don’t want more violent crime though.

drug addicts that commit these crimes
Lets say a drug addict has gone to jail a few time for theft.. and as you say, they might be liars and cheaters. And for whatever reason they end up getting.. I don't know... 15 years in prison. Are you okay with the prison system as it is.. They go to jail, serve their time.. Maybe get out in 9 or 10 years and then put back out on the streets or do you think jail should focus more on rehabilitating?
