Beginning on January 1, 2024, they will be fining users who commit perceived violations on their bandwidth.

Who knew in America that the phone providers would now be policing the content of your text messages to fine you.

S.H.A.F.T. is an acronym that stands for Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco. It outlines the categories of text messages specifically regulated due to moral and legal issues and is monitored and enforced by the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) and the mobile carriers.

Who gets to determine what is and isn’t “hateful”?

Will political text messages be censored now as well going into 2024?

How can they determine what is a joke and not real versus actual deals being made?

How would they be able to tell if you were talking about a movie you just watched?

Is there information to support this claim other than a Twitter post?

They can’t, and therefore will insinuate you can’t “joke” about sensitive topics. Free speech is a dying concept

Bigger question is why are we being monitored without a warrant.

I was thinking more along the lines of voting and purchasing. Bud’s realizing options today and Ultra Right beer had a solution.

...because we don't. Few own the systems so when they say "bandwidth" that means all of the 3rd Party resellers customers too. Which I believe T-Mobile has a big VAR program. Sprint is big too.

I was thinking about moving to T-Mobile in JAN, won't now, but unfortunately AT&T and the other companies will do this soon enough.

A large VOIP provider. Perhaps the largest

quote:

Vonage (/'v?n?d?/, legal name Vonage Holdings Corp.) is an American cloud communications provider operating as a subsidiary of Ericsson. Headquartered in Holmdel Township, New Jersey, the organization was founded in 1998 as Min-X as a provider of residential telecommunications services based on voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). In 2001, the organization changed its name to Vonage.[3]

As of 2020, Vonage reported consolidated revenues of $1.25 billion.[4] Through a series of acquisitions beginning in 2013,[5] Vonage, previously a consumer-focused service provider, has expanded its presence in the business-to-business marketplace, while still keeping its home VOIP service.[6][7][8] Vonage's offering includes unified communications, contact center applications and communications APIs.[9][10] In July 2022, Ericsson completed its acquisition of Vonage for $6.2 billion
