They're called HID headlights. High Intensity Discharge. AKA "Fish Eyes". They are three times brighter than halogen, and it's the angle. Trucks are really bad about this.

This. I get flashed frequently in my F150.

Your lights are probably too bright then. Do you have factory headlights?

Nah, I just leave my brights on in that case to let you know what it looks like on my end.

Have done that several times now. The new Fords trucks are bad about this.

OP, wholeheartedly agree.

Some of those cars you see have lumens that are too damn high. Around 4300k is optimal for the xenon headlights buy anything higher appears blueish and too bright

4300k is actually the most amount of light(lumens)possible and it's what most manufacturers use, some go slightly higher for more white output. Anything below is more yellow, anything above is more blue, but the lumens decrease either way.

What you are seeing is numbnuts that have changed the factory units for $99 HID "specials".

The issue is scatter. The replacment bulbs don't fit the stock housings.
They are actually illegal.

GM and BMW lead the league in headlight technology.

T... especially if you drive a car and a truck passes you since their headlights are in your direct line of vision

It is actually more dangerous for the cops.

when I am behind someone and I can tell my lights are bothering them. I just turn them off until we get moving again.

It's the Hid lights.
they are just super bright.

Thoughgh even with my bright lights, I still flash anyone I see with brights on. (brights are usually more to the inside than regular beams.

it is either the jackass in the huge lifted truck or now these fricks are putting LED light bars and running them. There is no way that those light bars should be on when driving on streets. I have a lifted jeep, and when I pull up behind someone at a stoplight and I can tell that I am lighting up the inside of the smaller car in front of me, I will go ahead and flip my lights off as a courtesy to the other driver or just try and not pull up so close to them

I've had to show nearly all my friends where the interior switch is to angle their headlights downward. They didn't even know it existed. It not only helps other drivers, it actually hellos see the road instead the empty air in front of you.

And they're too blue. They look like cop lights.

I put aftermarket HIDs in mine. The kit is a piece of shite but I can't go back to dimmer lights after being used to it. I got brighted for a week or so, truck is also lifted. Adjusted the angle, no more brighting.

I do like that if I ride someone in a car's arse I can blind the shite out of them. Helpful when some dick keeps cutting you off.

Do you have reflectors or halogen projectors?

If reflectors, frick you all around.

If projectors, it's still pretty dickish. HIDs aren't nearly as bad in them, but it's still pretty awful. Getting brighted is not the the best evidence to harsh glare to drivers. You're misleading yourself about getting better light. It is brighter, but the dispersion is pretty poor. Basically you get more light directly in front of you, which actually causes your pupils to adjust and reduces your vision.

I used to have HIDs in non-HID housings. Although they weren't too bad, you could definitely see a difference in the light pattern. I actually switched my bulbs to a brighter halogen (H11 to H9 conversion), and was actually impressed. The light is still "yellow", but much brighter than halogen, and better dispersed than the HIDs.

This. I have a 2013 Silverado LTZ and I'm just amazed at how bright my lights are and I wish they weren't so but there's really nothing I can do about it.

Also lights on cop cars are way too damn bright now these days too. It's fine during the day but they're a fricking public safety hazard at night. They need to be curtailed.
