Not exactly analogous. Japan was a sovereign and recognized country. It is not some vague criminal association that probably isn't even an organized group.

Now you get mad at Obama when you think about Pearl Harbor? Pathetic.

Typical millennial, never taking responsibility for your own actions. It's always someone else's fault.

It's because of people like you the terrorists are here in America.

FDR knew about an imminent Jap attack on Pearl Harbor months before December 7th. The newer fleet was moved north just before the attack. The submarine nets were left open. The new radar suddenly stopped working.

FDR sacrificed lives at Pearl Harbor as a reason to go to war.

One of America's first false flags...

exactly what I'm saying, It's hard to do anything when you don't know exactly who's attacking you

You are an idiot if you don't understand the difference between 07 DEC 41 and what happened in California last week.

He had to stop the Isolationist mentality. You're right.

FDR had foresight. He didn't want Germany to gain too much momentum AND...there was a power in the East he didn't want coming more and more West...

Oh, I agree, wrongfully imprisoning American citizens and confiscating their private property is everything America stands for.

It's the american way. They should just be thankful they weren't back home.

Few people know about the Niihau Incident where a pilot who attacked Pearl Harbor was given aid by residents with Japanese heritage.

I want to believe you, but when you told me Anne Frank was not Jewish, because her dad actually made the story up after the war, makes me doubt you actually know what you are talking about.

We did detect them but they were believed to be flock of birds due to the large numbers.

No he didn't.

You talking about the carriers? The Pacific Fleet had three carriers assigned. The rest were in the Atlantic. The Enterprise was to the west returning to Pearl after ferrying fighters to Wake Island. The Lexington was returning from Midway after doing the same for Midway Island. And the Saratoga was steaming for Pearl from the West Coast after time in dry dock. None of these ships were "moved north" or anywhere else for that matter right before the attack. In fact, they were on their way back to Pearl Harbor when the attack came.

This was done to allow two minesweepers and an oceangoing tug to enter the harbor that morning. There were ships patrolling the entrance to the harbor and they did intercept and sink one Japanese midget sub.

No. The radar was working fine and picked up the incoming Japanese strike. The problem is these radar signatures were mistakenly identified as a flight of B-17's that was expected that morning.
