Welcome to having Google data mine the hell out of you and yours. All those "free" google shite apps come at a high cost.

I guess I'm one of the few that welcomes this. It’s like have a servant that knows your every wish and thought before you express it.

swiping on the space bar on the iPad trying to move the cursor

I've been an Android user since the T-Mobile G1 and just learned this from this post

I also use an iPhone for work. Will never switch my personal phone.

I mean, apple would own all of literally the same stuff, no?

Apple doesn’t really have any home products just a home app that it hasn’t really supported very well.

Apple doesn’t have a search engine to manipulate, servers to kick websites and apps off it doesn’t agree with, web services used across the web to be banned from, server for RCS messaging for the phone companies, powerful AI to manipulate people and all the data it has collected from past to present, things like YouTube to manipulate and control through demonetizing users it doesn’t agree with, and so on.

Android and a few other products should have been forced to be spun off.

If apple bans you then you can still survive outside of apple. If google bans you will still be hurt even if focused on Apple’s ecosystem as many apps and websites use google for development and bug reporting, hosting, servers, advertising, search, and so on. If google and Amazon do the banning you are screwed.

If I try to block google completely on my phone I mess up many 3rd party apps and websites using it in various ways (including even just viewing gifs from tenor on TD), and blocking google even messes with performance and access to iCloud as Apple uses their servers along with servers from Amazon and Akamai. Blocking amazon causes similar issues due to it servers and hosting. Unless you specifically use an Apple product you can block apple and not have any issues with 3rd party apps and websites, and you will probably rarely if ever see anything from Apple actually blocked.

One’s power is much more concerning than the other’s.

Can’t you just tap and hold the spacebar on the iPad and then drag the cursor to where you want it?

So just learned I have to tap and hold and as opposed to just swipe.

Same. I have Android for personal and iPhone for work. I prefer Android for a lot of reasons.

I don't like the layout. It's not user friendly and I've got more toys on the Android.

A portion of my family are Apple cultists and complain that my videos are no good and poor quality.

The good guys in the family (with the Androids) have no problem watching videos I send.

Having a Galaxy Fold 7 is blowing my mind. This thing opens up and becomes borderline productivity platform.

Apple just has been stagnant for way too long.

They might have cracked it forever more, but I’ve never heard of a Google phone getting held up because the entire might of the federal government struggled to crack it.
