It's definitely a terrible situation but this story comes from a website dedicated to cop-bashing. I'd like to see the story from a more reputable source
Here's another link (from December), which gives a little more background to the story. LINK

But Alecia says Habersham Deputy Jason Stribling picked up the child before she could reach him. “I kept telling him, ‘Just give me my son. He's scared. He needs me. The officer wouldn't. And then he walked out of the room with [Bou Bou] and I didn't see him again.”
What they didn’t realize at the time was that the blast from the flash-bang grenade severely burned Bou Bou’s face and torso and collapsed his left lung. Alecia says the officers wouldn’t allow her to see her child before he was whisked away in an ambulance.
“I asked if he got hurt. And they said, ‘No, your son is fine. He has not sustained any serious injury,” Alecia Phonesavanh remembers. “They ended up telling us that he had lost a tooth.”
But her husband became alarmed after seeing a pool of blood and the condition of the crib. “Burnt marks on the bottom of the crib where he sleep[s],” recalls Bounkham Phonesavanh. “And the pillow blown apart.”
Jesus. frick those animals. They are criminals that need to be put in prison.

Yeah, the story is very disturbing.

Drug agent - quit
Drug task force - disbanded
Judge who signed warrant - retired
Perp who they wanted - didn't even live there
Cop who blindly threw a flash bang at a baby, almost killing it - still on the force
No charges filed.

At least most of them are no longer in a position to do further harm, the cop being the exception

You really should read the whole thread. I quoted a pleading filed by lawyers for the Police Department.

No, you didn't. You quoted a pleading filed by lawyers for the Police Department. There is a big difference.

You've repeatedly said that you quoted the brief or the pleading, but you did not.
You quoted the article.

What makes jobs in the military and law enforcement honorable and worthy of our respect is that they defend all of our God given rights with their lives if necessary, recognizing a noble greater good. Take away those rights but retaining their authority no longer makes what they do a sacrifice, instead turning them into tyrants. Unfortunately your friend lost his life but he did so hoping to make the world a better place. Respect his decision despite the personal cost to you

Yup...GJ declined to indict IIRC...

I mean that sucks and all, but it might have been avoided had better research been done. Why would you bust into an armed dealer's house? Why not catch him leaving the grocery or checking his mail?
The whole way they go about it is bass awkwards. Being hyper aggressive isn't always the best answer. Being smarter is

Again, I get it. But...to claim contributory negligence by a one year old?
Did you even read the defense? The defense specifically said "Plaintiffs," which be a catchall to include the parents of the minor bringing suit. It did not say, the "minor plaintiff's actions.....," C'mon man.

The kid/victim is one of the plaintiffs. He is a minor so adults are going to be involved..
