we need an onsite re-enactment of the shot. this guy was under fire and still had to shoot through multiple glass panes and buildings to hit him. i don't get it.

So IMO 100 yards, moving target, through windows is pretty impressive.
It is. All Marines think they're Sergeant York.

SWAT officer shot through obstruction of the building and shot through 2 windows of the building to hit the perp
Shot through obstruction doesn't mean through a window. I imagined him shooting through the Benny's vacuums area. Which is a roof structure only, but I might have missed them saying he shot through two windows.

C'mon... No self respecting Marine thinks he's Sgt York. That guy was Army! A Marine thinks he's Chesty Puller or Carlos Hathcock!

I read that a moving human target at 100 isn't hard. Don't even have to lead him. If you are shooting at a side profile, you might lead a bit. A shoulder ain't much to shoot at.

I thought of that as soon as I hit submit. I knew someone would tee off on that.

it was not one shot then
Yeah not a chance...
Did they say he shot through 2 windows?? I thought they said he shot through an obstruction or structure or something like that. It looked like they were pointing toward the covered vacuum area on the aerial photo.

right so if the cop was under fire then that means the perp was shooting through the same glass windows and obstructions right back at him?
Thats an impressive gun fight between 2 people that can only see each other through an xray vision scope.

The OT adds another incredible feat to it's repertoire. 4.4 40, throw a football 65 yards, 88 mph fastball, 400 lb bench press and now, shooting with a small window of opportunity under stress and nailing the guy.
To the OT...

The first 4 are actually pretty impressive feats if you ask me. Wish I could do those things.

Meh, I would've shot him through the sight right in the eyeball
Posted on 7/19/16 at 11:31 am to RogerTheShrubber
I don't care if the dude was doing backflips off a midget's head, at 100 yards you should be able to hit the target.
If you're all fairly confident you couldn't hit a target at 100 yards with a rifle you're proficient with, I'd suggest more and better training.

Since none of the rest of us know the exact difficulty of the shot and his window of opportunity, I find your statement incredible. Congrats on the ESP
