Indeed. Longest sniper kill recorded was with a Lapua.

.338 Lapua will be my next purchase. Savage 111 is around $1,000.

Go for it.
If I had the money I would get one with a Finnish Scope.

I know one who was a Marine who saw alot of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and killed a couple of people. He has no remorse about it. If you kill someone who's an evil fricking scumbag, why would you feel guilt?
Guilt is too strong a word. If I used "guilt" that's my mistake. This BR cop may feel "guilt" about not getting there quicker or saving more lives. He'd be wrong IMO. But I bet he feels it.
The guy you know should not feel guilty. Doesn't mean he's not fricked up about it. He didn't go duck hunting. He killed a person. Evil or not, that has to stick with you.
I dont know, this is OT chit chat. Never shot a guy. Never served. Never really feared for my life. Hope I never do. Shooting a person would frick me up. Evil or not. Would I dwell on it? Nope, hope not.

Sort of. The AR-15 was developed in the late fifties to fit military specifications for an M14 replacement, but the Army got cold feet, so it got into civilian hands first.
Learn something new everyday.
Unless you're full of shite. I always knew the OT could be full of shite.

It haunts the best of us, go talk to the old WW2 vets. It haunts them even though they know they were killing Nazis. If it doesn't haunt you to take a life, even an evil one, good chances are you are a psychopath.

Is that his blood on the bottom of the stock? Ah, yes it is.

Reporter: What do you feel when you pull the trigger knowing you're taking another person's life?
Marksman: Recoil.
An oldie but goodie.

So instead of some $500 AR from Academy this guy was strapped with a $2000 rifle?
I hope they find out who was bankrolling this guy.

A 2k rifle and a 500.00 optic. Seems odd to me.

Comparing killing this POS psycho to what WWII soldiers had to deal with killing other German SOLDIERS, not "Nazis," is apples and oranges. Not even remotely the same thing.

When he embarked on this mission he knew he wasn't coming back from it, so every penny in your bank account is expendable. This guy didn't need outside funding to spend a few grand on weapons and a car rental.

You know I'm actually curious, but do the families of these mass shooters typically have funerals for them?

Hypothetical here. Didn't see the need to start a thread about it.
I always carry my pistol and sometimes have my AR15 in my vehicle with me.
Say you were at that gas station and witnessed this dude shooting police officers.
If you had the means and weaponry in your vehicle, are you engaging him?
Are you going to risk getting mistaken by other law enforcement for the bad guy by involving yourself?
Just asking because of that incident at the Autozone on Joor & Greenwell springs a few years back.
