I’d much as I’d like to see student loans go away, this is the right decision. The president shouldn’t have that power.

How many votes do you think will hinge on this ridiculous "issue"?

So to tack on to that car prices thread ... There's gonna be a LOT of lightly used cars on the market very soon

Was just thinking that. Boat prices might drop as well.

Libs will bitch but this is good because it takes power from the executive branch.

And it puts a stop to a program that would cause the already out of control cost of college tuition to spiral out of control further.

Anyone that supports student loan forgiveness is horribly selfish and shortsighted.

As it should!

You borrowed it now you pay it back.

Keep the foot on the gas, conservatives.

Require universities to have a difficult blind exam as the sole criterion for admission. Sell it as "getting rid of legacy admissions".

I've seen some dissident left sauces who predicted this 6 months ago. They said Brandon intentionally set it up to fail. If he'd been serious, he woukd have gone about it in a different manner because there were avenues he could have used that would have survived legal scrutiny.

You know what I personally think the college system is fricked with how expensive it is and loans should be forgiven with that being said I would be far less pissed off if we didn’t just have the loans of a bunch of politicians and millionaires forgiven. A little consistency would be nice, either both loan forgiveness plans are fine or neither are.

It’s the opposite, allowing this program would guarantee that the next generation of lower middle class and lower class students would be unable to attend college due to costs.

As someone that paid off his loans, I could see very narrow programs (such as PSLF) be okay, but not widespread vote-buying by politicians.

I never took any. I'm not sure why I should have to pay off other people's student loans.

Major in proper fields (ie acct, eng, finance, etc) and one will secure gainful employment to payoff said loans.

Damn I can’t believe the slackers are going to have to actually pay off their own loans all by themselves

Classic I got mine, frick you mentality.

The system is the problem, blaming an entire generation of people who were told their entire lives they have to go to college regardless of expense is not a solution.

Apparently, the NAACP was a big supporter of the debt relief.
