I'm still trying to figure out how they are going to handle parking. That lot is going to be packed at 5:00 for happy hour, the gym, and grocery shopping. Is there an overflow plan with the banks next door and across the street?

They are going to have to park across the street at the shops or along Kinnelworth and walk It's going to be insane. The gym members and grocery shoppers are going to be pissed!

How bout you take a drive over to Don Jose's on Baton Rouge's own College Drive for better Grilled Tex-Mex than Superior Grill.

Gotta disagree with ya there, ole boy. Went to Don Jose's. Worst Tex Mex in town by a long shot.

I was always a Ninfa's fan myself. I never thought the price difference between Superior and Ninfa's was justified.

Granted I worked there for 5 years so I may be biased.

Just curious, have you heard anything about how they're doing post name change? Now they're Tio Javi's. Changing the name was one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard of and I remember thinking it would be a mistake.

That will last about a week until the shop owners contract with Riverside towing.

Fun fact of the day:

Someone else bought the place and named it after himself. Currently he is no longer there and is now at Tilted Kilt fwiw.

Most of their kitchen staff left shortly after the regime change. The head chef was let go and most of the knowledge surrounding the menu was in his head. Food is average. If you want to get Ninfa's style food, go to Nando's. It is owned and operated by the man who originally opened Ninfa's.

The drinks aren't what they used to be. Granted I'm biased because I used to make them for a living.

I've ordered it at lunch and at dinner.

Unless they have changed their rules, I think so.

Nando's is sharing a 1/2 page advertisement with DeAngelo's in the latest 225 edition.

Me thinks they may be taking over another DeAngelo's location soon?

You didn't get the secret Friday night invite?

Soft opening, 4:1 hotchick:dude ratio guaranteed. So pretty much same as any Friday at the original location

I believe they are business partners. Probably just splitting costs.

Makes sense then to share the advertising costs.

You got a fluke or you're stupid.

The place has taken off simply by word-of-mouth in BR and just last month FB ads.
And a few people who know the original in Kenner(which is always packed).

Ha. I always thought they went with "Tio Javi" to pay homage to T.J. Moran's initials. Then I'd heard after he died, the kids just sold all the restaurants off but that could have been just a rumor..

Nando's, eh? Where that is?

Whoa there little fella! I had to dig through a mountain of onions to find a couple of tough and under seasoned pieces of steak in my fajitas. I forgot to mention that the tiny tortillas fell apart immediately as well. A miserable experience. The others at my table had similar results. The wait staff was terrible, although the manager was a decent fellow.
Showing your stupidity when someone disagrees with you is no way to go through life, my man. By the way, why is the parking lot mostly empty when I go by at lunch and dinner?

We fightin. It's a disability!!

Meet me at the Sonic. Loser drives the backway to Jose's and buys Supper.

The only logical issue would be that they are hiring more staff as they have gotten increasingly busy. They had ads out for hiring servers and kitchen staff. The staff they had when opened was commuting from Kenner store. One bartender I know at Kenner said it was brutal. So understandable they want local staff.

As for not being busy, you just may be stupid or blind or it's not popular for lunch. It was packed the last Wednesday night we went and the Friday before that.
