The only issue I have with this, if the roles were reversed, would Laquetta be fired from her job?

This is like asking, "If the suspect was white, would the cop have shot him?"

It's a somewhat interesting thought exercise, but ultimately unknowable and likely intended to distract from the legitimate case at hand.

Well this thread has been an absolute doozy. A guy came out as racist, and he proceeded to double down on it multiple times as literally everyone told him how dumb he sounds.
It's basically like every thread on the PT...except everyone was discouraging, rather than encouraging, him.

There is no back story on why this happened.

Actually there is. You're just in too much of a hurry to confirm your biases that you didn't read it.

Oh now she's a victim here? You're beyond stupid.

No.

Right to work means you can't be forced to join a union.

He's already race baited in the BR NASA thread too, but somehow people who call him out are the racist ones. He's a joke.

You're right, at will was what I was trying to think of.

My issue is firing people for things they say/do at home.
She wasn't at home. She was trespassing on her neighbor's property. But for the sake of argument I'm gonna assume you mean firing people for things they say/do while not on the job.

If you ran the food bank this woman worked for, what would you do?

He would do nothing or congratulate her and then play the victim when his business was put under fire for not taking any action.

i think your real issue is thinking people shouldn’t be held accountable for blatant racism. not even just racism but literal harassment

It's not really even a business in the traditional sense. It's a public interest organization whose ability to fulfill its very worthy mission depends entirely on having the trust of the community.

Aahh...so it's not really, "What would happen if the roles were reversed?" It's, "Here's what I think would happen if the roles were reversed."

Nothing considering this didn’t happen at work or has anything to do with her job...

ETA: I wouldn’t do anything to other lady if the roles were reversed either. But I don’t really give a shite what you do or say outside of work, so long as you aren’t breaking laws and you show up and do your job correctly.

If the racism didn't happen in the work place, that's an awfully dangerous precedent to set. This woman is scum, there is no question. But getting fired for personal stuff that happens at home is a bit much for me. Was she arrested for a crime? I could maybe see it then. But otherwise, I'm not a fan of that becoming the norm

You do realize tons of people have been terminated for things they’ve done on their personal time and not in the workplace, right?

That’s not a new concept. People don’t have free-reign to do what they want away from work without facing repercussions there.

“We will investigate the situation”

Stall for two weeks, issue a week or two suspension without pay, warning that if it happens again you get the axe.

Thats the beauty of America. If you don’t like the way I handle things, take your business elsewhere. I wouldn’t make decisions based on the woke mob on non work related matters

Not sure if we have seen this yet. This is (allegedly) the “Super Karen” on Facebook.

And, as a result, when businesses stopped donating food to you and the community stopped coming to you, what would you do?
