The entire story is messed up and makes no sense. Cena turns heel, plays a great heel, then Friday flips to face, loses to Cody without Cody turning, then just trot out Lesnar and we all forget about it.
The Rock got involved in the Cena heel turn but couldn't commit to seeing it through. He never should have gotten involved in the first place if he couldn't commit.

I don't know what cheap documentary I watched where they were all talking about each other. It was old. But Brock apparently showed up to camp late for some reason and the first day he was there they were warming up running the ropes or something like that. He stumbled or missed a step right as he was turning and flew over the ropes at full speed and through 4 rows of steel chairs. They all thought he was dead. They all heard a goofy chuckle from a pile of chairs and Brock said, "Bet that looked pretty funny, huh?"
