Suggestions for something to do with kids in NO this weekend

I'm taking my daughters, 9,10, to the pelicans game on Saturday, probably going to stay the night and look for something to do Sunday morning. Any suggestions? Looking for something a little different, no zoo or aquarium. Maybe a neat breakfast place? TIA

Get robbed at gunpoint.
It's the "IN" thing to do when people come to my city.

Celebration at the Oaks? Is that still happening after Christmas?

Go get those big arse pancakes at whatever that place is called. I know that's not very helpful, but I think it's like City Diner or somewhere.

Looking for a step-mom can be rough. Good luck to you and the littles.

Stanley is one of my favorite FQ breakfast spots.

You don't want to do that during the day though.

For a neat breakfast spot, try Ruby Slipper.
Option 1 is to walk around to Jackson Square and take a mule drawn carriage ride around the quarter then watch the street performers around the square and up and down Royal Street.
A street car ride down to Audabon park might be nice.
My choice would be to go out to City Park. If you haven't been there in a while, the place is gotten much better with kid friendly things.
1. There is a Morning Call place near the play ground that has beignets and cafe-au-lait. It's better than Cafe Dumonde and you don't have to deal with the crowds.
2. The kids can play on the play ground and climb the old oaks.
3. Right across the street is a free sculpture garden that they might enjoy.
4 Near there is a new 36 hole mini golf place. One course has signs on each hole that talks of historical Nola stuff. The other course has them for Louisiana.
5. The little amusement park is fun. There is a new roller coaster if you haven't been in a while.
6. There is a canoe and bike rental place not far away in front of the museum. You can all fit on one of the dual peddle bike carts and thats fun.
7. On Harrison drive on the other side of the park is a neat hiking trail in an urban forest.

Check out the NOLA ChristmasFest , we haven't been this year, but, took my 9 , 7 and 5 year olds to it last year and they had a good time.

Yeah, this is a great idea. We are going tomorrow. The kids love the ice skating.

Good suggestion. City Park is the place to take them.
Celebration in the Oaks is still going on, and they have other cool stuff to see and do.
City Putt (putt putt golf), and the amusement park are fun. Depending on their sophistication, Story Land is pretty cool (I still like it).
You can rent a paddle boat or canoe and paddle around the lakes. You can rent bikes and peddle cars (2 or 4 person bike-carts) and ride around the park.
You can ride the street car from downtown out to the park and back if you have the time.
