Exactly. From what I've seen/heard girls say, you are basically paid to be at these dude's beck and call. You get all dolled up and play girlfriend for date nights and parties, you go on trips together, you listen to him talk about whatever he wants to talk about, you be agreeable and don't spend time talking about yourself, and you sleep with him.
It's a pretty good gig for the dudes. Not sure why anyone would consider that pathetic or knock it.
I read a thread about this just last week. A lot of the "sugar babies" in the thread said you'd be surprised how many of the men are normal (attractive, even) men who simply don't have the time or desire to have a real relationship so they use this for companionship when they feel like it.

Me either. I know of quite a few guys that indulge in this every so often. They're well educated, 30/40-something, attorney/banker types for whom traditional dating can be more of a hassle.

I love this. "Dumb skank"? LOL. Many of these women are young college and grad school types who enjoy being taken to upscale bars, restaurants and travel destinations that they otherwise couldn't afford at their stage in life. I'd be willing to bet that a few women that you know do, or have done, this type of thing. Oh, they may describe it differently, but let's not kid ourselves.
