Any company that would chose Megan Rapinoe as its advertising representative has a corporate culture that is irredeemable. In putting Rapinoe as the face of their company, Subway has shown a willingness to hire someone who expresses contempt for this country and who is so insulting to many Americans and, subsequently, many of its potential customers. The only solution is to discontinue doing business with Subway. It is unfortunate that there are many franchisees linked to a national brand that is so out of touch with (and willing to openly insult) so many of its customers, but the only solution is to hit this brand where it hurts--i.e., in its bottom line.
One alternative: a Subway franchise could post signs clearly disavowing the advertisements of its national corporate office. Supporting a Subway franchisee who does this might be a viable choice.
