U.S. adults ages 16-34 are the worst, or nearly the worst, at a variety of professional skills when compared to their counterparts in 22 countries, a new study reveals.

“Millennials are often portrayed as being on track to be our best educated generation ever, but their skill levels are comparatively weak,” wrote researchers from Educational Testing Service.

Members of the so-called Generation Y ranked last in ability to work with numbers. And only their counterparts in Spain and Italy had lower literary scores.

Supposedly tech-savvy Millennials also landed in last place in the category measuring how well they use computer applications to solve work problems.

This American unexeceptionalism wasn’t limited to the under-educated. Millennials with a master's degree or better were also near the bottom, ahead of only similar residents of Ireland, Poland and Spain.

Hold a CoD or Madden tournament and they will show you their elite skills.

Looks like the baby boomers didn't do a good job preparing their kids.

Move over baby boomers. We're going to surpass you as the worst generation.

Not surprising. The Kenyan interns I used to hire were far more literate and technically skilled than the American kids I'd hire out of college.

Hey, don't try to pin this on Generation X.

Only the youngest are ours and they're too young to have "skills".

I'm a member of Gen X so I'm on the outside looking at both the boomers andMillennials objectively. From what I've seen, the Millennials are just a dumbed down version of the boomers. That's why I think all the hostility I see on here from Millennials towards boomers is hilarious.

J-1 students I'd bring in from Eastern Europe were light years ahead of recent US college graduates when it came to common sense and problem solving. They had far better social skills as well.

He's borderline. I wouldn't be opposed to letting him fight a cage match against 2 or 3 other people born in 1980 with the last one standing granted membership in X.
