Question: for those of you that have had covid, did your taste go away gradually or was it instantaneous?

Mine was instant. Still not 100%

Its like it has permanently dulled my taste buds. When I actively had it, I couldnt taste anything. Salt, sugar, bitterness, etc all gone.

My smell is weak now. Been about 4 months and although it came back, it’s not the same. It’s kind of sad, but mostly bizarre. Just doesn’t make sense.

Same. The things I can smell are very faint and tastes are dulled. I had covid 2 months ago.

I'm curious, and I'm not trying to start another goddamn vaccine debate, but those of you who have had these effects, were you vaccinated? Just wondering if what they describe as a "milder" COVID reaction after vaccination includes potentially long-term taste/smell issues.

Same time frame, same results.
My only symptom was loss of smell and taste.
Mostly back, some things don't smell like they used to.

A dear friend had Covid last Christmas and still today she says everything smells like car exhaust! Damn that’s a shitty deal.

Can’t smell my shite. No joke. When I take a dump, there is no smell.

It’s fricking weird.

Developed an odd smell / taste that is very hard to explain but the absolute best adjective is Metallic. no temperature, symptoms or cough, just dehydration and difficulty breathing

I had it in July and my taste and smell came back after shocking it with strong flavors. Olives and lemons seemed to work well. I was pouring Tabasco on everything just to taste it. But lemons helped the most.

Same. I had nothing for 8 months, and then exactly what you’re describing. I’ve accepted it’s probably not going to go back to normal.

Bourbon
Beer
Onions
Peanut butter
Sour scream
Chili powder

I think I miss those the most. The taste and smell are so off on them.
