Almost every meeting in an office in the movies they pour straight whiskey into cocktail glassware from a glass decanter. I have been in a few meetings over the years but never seen this practiced, maybe I've missed out.

Any of you use one, or had a drink offered to you in this fashion?

Not straight liquor, but I would provide beer and wine for evening meetings at the office when it's the ownership group.

I have Jim and a YETI full of natty light in my office for when my Mexican employees finish cutting grass. Get hammered every night together. Good times.

I had one in my last office. A buddy of mine gave it to me for graduation with a bottle of Scotch.

And you pour it from the fancy decanter not a liquor bottle?

Unfortunately people don't drink as much as they used to in the business setting. Attorney's in the 80's were having 3 martini lunches on the reg and returning to work. Now it's fricking frowned upon to have a beer at lunch and head back to the office. What a bunch of sissies we have become.

I keep a set at the house.

But I've never seen it at an office.

The market president at the bank I used to work for had that shite in his office. It was rarely used, because he never had guests. It may have been because he was a shite head.

In my experience, pretty much every bank boardroom in Kentucky has a decanter and bourbon, at least in the cabinet. Of course, we didn't have any ourselves at the board meetings.

Shouldn't keep it in lead crystal as the lead leeches into the liquor.

C suite meetings are the greatest possibility.

I have a nice decanter with scotch in it at all times at my house on my bar.

My dad has this in his office as well (he's a corporate litigation attorney), but that is the only time I've ever seen it in an office space I think.

It was a competition in my last office for who had the nicest bar in their office.

It was also 90% of my job to keep the old guys out of their bar until after 3.

This is all caused by the rise of HR Departments which are typically run by women, busy-bodies, and/or lawyers. All they care about is the appearance of being busy and professional.

We don't need to because we're allowed to drink on the job.

Not out of a decanter, but we will on occasion celebrate with champagne for ladies and bourbon/scotch for the gentleman to celebrate a deal closing.
