If I'm in MS to Mobile, I'm very nervous the next 48 hours

So its a place with deep and warm water.
Right. So maybe as a follow up, have we measured or do we know at what depth water is pulled from the ocean (assuming the same mid and upper level atmospheric and wind environment)?
To state another way, all things in the atmosphere being equal, if a storm has 80* F water down to a depth of 100 ft vs. a storm with water 80* F to a depth of 150 ft is there a way to quantify/correlate a difference in the strength of a storm?

House is bay-side, half a mile from the bridge. Sits on 20 ft piers. Sounds like it could be a hell of story we might live to tell…
If you stay- whoever has their vehicle there is gonna loose them. You’re not gonna get to be in the front row for the storm AND able to leave once it passes.

So a hurricane stirs all the water up, so the depth allows for it not to upwell as much cold and supports a stronger storm for longer.
Its a much bigger impact if the storm is moving slower vs faster, since a fast mover wont upwell as much.

Pretty crazy to see the Euro with that low pressure that far north still.

Total sarcasm baw.. ain’t no way I’m staying on one of the most exposed pieces of land on the gulf coast with one road in and out and a potential major hurricane.
I got a wife, kids, and 5 chickens..cant be doin shite like that

The Euro does weird shite inland with TCs.

That was a curious run, with a "southern" center winning. Then it gets stuck in no man's land before finally going in.

Bruhhhh, stop….I don’t wish this in br/Nola but LC needs a break.

This outcome would almost certainly destroy my entire life.

I'm a nervous wreck right now. Just two weeks ago, my family finally got back into our home from last year's shite shows. This area has suffered so much loss. There isn't much fight left in a lot of people here, including me, due to the hurricanes, the freeze event and the May flood all while dealing with a pandemic. We are tired.

#99 There has been a rather dramatic shift east in the models tonight toward #LA after more of a #TX focus this afternoon. Does it concern me? Not really as there is no center for the models to forecast. More dramatic shifts are likely before a storm finally forms.
Trying to channel Nash Roberts. But still going out on limb a bit.

Special Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
505 AM EDT Thu Aug 26 2021
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
Special tropical weather outlook issued to update the discussion of
the system south of Jamaica.
Updated: Shower and thunderstorm activity continues to become better
organized in association with a trough of low pressure located less
than 200 miles south of Jamaica. Environmental conditions remain
conducive for development, and a tropical depression or storm is
expected to form later today or tomorrow. This system is forecast to
move northwestward over the northwestern Caribbean Sea near the
Cayman Islands tonight, near Cuba and the Yucatan Peninsula of
Mexico on Friday, and into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Given
the recent developmental trends, Tropical Storm Warnings for the
Cayman Islands and Tropical Storm Watches for western Cuba could be
required later today.
