Just listened to the 3PM advisory from SG. The discussion is moving the landing closer to Port Fourchon due to the Northward jog.

The image is the 3PM updated track, which was moved about 15mi east from the 9AM track. I copied the path of the track and moved it to around Port Fourchon

This would be good for BR, and devastating to NO.

How low is "less competent than Nagin" on the scale? Does the scale even go that low?

Thanks to the guys in the know. This is by far the best place for info when the shite hits the fan.

Yes, it is. I thanked Duke earlier, but shout out to RDs, The Boat, and anyone else I missed. The arse clowns on the weather channel and local news had my elderly relatives boarding up windows today. In Jeff Davis Parish.

seems like an irresponsible tweet which will obviously induce panic.. but if it is true... show your work.

there are 2 types of people I know

those that text me "hey slow what is TD saying about this storm?"

and

those that argue with me until they're dead when i say TWC/the local news isn't reporting accurately

What’s the opinion on the Northshore area (mandeville, madisonville, covington) at this point? Woke up this morning with it looking like it wouldn’t be terrible, but looks to have gotten worse as the day has progressed

Go to NWS Slidell. Enter your zip code in the search box and it gives you a local forecast.

I haven’t seen anything from anyone else in agreement with that tweet.

Hopefully Ida doesn’t knock down any buildings in New Orleans. That would damage New Orleans’s reputation of being able to keep their buildings standing.

KBTR had a gust of 91 for Gustav. I'd be very surprised if Baton Rouge didn't have 100 mph gusts. And that's north at the airport. In the southern part of BR and in Ascension it will be a little stronger.

Southern Baton Rouge, St George and St Gabriel definitely had it a bit worse than BTR airport during Gustav. Probably will be the same story here.

Possibly the eastern trend was overstated.
