Yep. That'd be why every single one of them is going. And going.

The bad thing is, that with the flooding, first responders are essentially dealing with a Hurricane-like situation. I imagine it is going to be hard to get to some places that were hit with a foot of rain already and more falling.

The #tornado warning has moved northeast near Plainsboro. Nearly 1 million people are currently under the warning as it heads towards Plainfield, NJ. TAKE SHELTER IN THE WARNINGS!

Warm fronts can be real bastards when it comes to providing some serious low level rotation, and also are a focus for rain.

Puts the warm sector right in the NE base of the surface low. Very spinny. Very warm air advecty. All in a spot synoptically favorable for vertical motion.

Yikes:

Would rotation mess with the values on SDP?

I need to look up to be sure, so I might be incorrect on this.

I don't think it would make a big difference. It does suggest a whole lot of stuff is being slammed into the same spot (it's basically showing you the concentration of raindrops).

I was using the SDP to follow the core of Ida through Louisiana, since what was left of the eyewall had the greatest concentration of raindrops.

When that heavier rain makes it to NYC it is going to be bad.

NYC metro is getting moisture pumped at it, is in the heart of our low level front (like 850 to surface generally) but the upper divergence and other helpful synoptic lift is just off to the west. Assuming that pivots over though, wouldn't ride the subway tonight.
