Not only do we not need the rain, but can you imagine the shite that is lining the streets in BR, LP, Ascension, etc (sheetrock, furniture, etc.)blowing around in a hurricane/tropical storm?

Not always. Depends on how stacked the cyclone is and how high the ridge goes into the atmosphere. But that could be in play here, for sure.

If this thing goes from Miami to Beaumont, the clinched assholes in south LA will never be the same.

Didn't even think of all that debris. I'm getting out if Hermine comes close to here.

If that storm goes that far west over the GOM, it WILL turn into a hurricane.

Well, at least you guys don't have to worry about a hurricane now.

The top right quadrant is the area with the most amount of rain usually. So if it goes anywhere near laffy, we'll get a lot of rain

Hermine will be a large storm in terms of size. So if it hits TX or Alabama there will be some implications for LA. One model has the worst case scenerio for Louisiana with the storm stalling near landfall off the coast just ramping up in strength too. But there is a lot of spread in the models.

Hey!!!!

Long time no see!!! How have you been?

We were talking about this at work today. A coworker of mine that lost everything was saying how it would really suck if a hurricane came through and blew the stuff that is piled up along the streets, everywhere.

That map is pretty useless for what you're trying to say.

Yeah I was getting confused as to why the wind directions were pointing the opposite way of a normal low pressure system, then I saw it said wind shear at the top

The Coriolis force is part of the reason that hurricanes in the Northern Hemisphere rotate counterclockwise. If the Earth didn't spin, we would have wicked 300 mph winds from the tropics to the poles and back again.
