Best in the biz. If you see suspenders, go to your safe place.

Now he wasn't and didn't. His stupid VIPIR system said it was going up the east coast.

That's the truth, although I find now that he's not at FOX8 full time he is the first to jump on board.

99L looks like it's expanding in size this evening albeit not by much compared to this morning

I don't see the problem with meteorologists for the most part, it's the randoms with no background in it like you see on weather forums. They copy and paste pics and have no clue what they mean. And it's rampant on those forums.

My favorite is watching people as they see the models roll out and one poster says "WOAH, HUGE WEST JUMP IN THIS RUN" and the very next post is someone else saying "MODEL SHIFTING EAST TODAY." You can post one model run and see people interpret it totally differently. Mostly it is one or both of them being dumb.

Yes it sounds stupid because Bob Breck actually said Katrina was going to hit the North Carolina coastline. Nash Roberts came back on the air (out of retirement) and said it was going to hit Louisiana when it was a few hundred miles outside of Miami in the Atlantic.
Breck went nuts and started claiming that Roberts didn't know what he was talking about and that he was the expert. Breck still has egg on his face from that storm.

This is the OT. Definitely both.

This is exactly what happend. Breck didn't change his forecast until a day or so before and then he lost his shite over the contra flow.
To this day he still claims he called Katrina for New Orleans. Of course he did, but was too late and after he insisted it wasn't happening.

Would probably help with his appearance.

I'm not sure if any meteorologist would predict where it will land 5+ days out, but North Carolina was never even in the cards.
ETA: For clarity, I'm saying Breck is an idiot because the NHC never had something that far north in the cone of any projections.

Slack, think by Saturday we'll have a good idea of what's gonna happen?

I'm not defending Breck, I'm saying that if he thought NC was the destination, he was straying wayyyy off the path of the NHC.
