Sadly restaurants and such open themselves up to lawsuits by donating old food to places. If it was close to being out of date or needs to be refrigerated or something and someone gets sick or possibly dies, the lawyers would have a fun time.

So it’s $100 over stolen for over 4 months?

This is why I steal something everytime I use self checkout. If you outsource the labor to me I’m paying myself with a free onion.

Why is it this new type police officer lack common sense? Back in the day it would have been a judgement call by the responding officer. Today they read a manual and just make terrible decisions.

Sad thing is the manager waited for the autistic kid to eat over $100 worth of food, then decided to get the law involved. Manager could’ve just warned him and told him to stop. It was a piece of shite move if you ask me.

I mean, frick, its basic management to warn the employee when u see them doing something wrong.

Bush league shite from the manager and thats why he got canned.

Years ago my mom got fired from some bullshite job because she had been given permission to take books that they were throwing away then they switched managers and instead of saying you can’t do that anymore the new manager fired the employees that took books and other stuff going to the trash. She made six figures at her next job so it was a blessing in disguise, but pretty shitty of that manager. She just wanted to clean house and bring in her own people.

Also - why are we wasting time booking and fingerprinting people in the 21st century.

Confirm the kids ID, escort him off premises, and submit your police report to the magistrate or DA to determine if a summons or charge is warranted

Nothing is accomplished by treating a person accused of a misdemeanor as a criminal, driving them down to the jail, and fully booking them. It’s a ritual in humiliation of a still innocent person.

Where are my economists? How many crimes are solved by fingerprints vs how many crimes could be prevented/solved by free up police man power?

If it was actual stealing Id have no problem with them firing him, whether he was disabled or not.

But him eating food out of the trash isn't costing them a thing so it's a huge ridiculous overreaction.

Involving the cops is especially ridiculous.

Now, was getting law enforcement necessary? Probably not. But we are only getting one side of the story. Regardless, a very basic adage applies: If something doesn't belong to you...don't take it...even if you believe it's not a big deal to take it.

Yeah, but that's the thing.

I get that we only know one side of the story, but we know three key things in that side.

1. We know that the manager was aware of this happening for months

2. We know it didn't cost the company any money. It was literally stealing
some of the company's trash.

3. We know that instead of just saying to a 16 year old kid once you found out, "Hey kid, that's not o.k. I realize we're throwing that stuff out, but there are food regulations that we could get in trouble for if someone knew you were eating this stuff. Of course you don't know that because you're a 16 year old dumbass, like everybody else was at 16, but I'm telling you now, so don't let me catch you doing it again," that the guy decided to be a fricking Karen and wait until the amount stolen totaled over $100 just so he could have a kid hauled away in handcuffs.

We got that much from just one side of the story.

Ed Zachery.

That guy wasn't helping the company at all by doing this (obviously).

He was just trying to bully a 16 year old kid.

I used to give homeless people pizzas that were leftover at the end of the night. It didn't hurt my bottom line and it just kept them from digging in my dumpster and making a mess. Whomever that manager is really needs to sit and have a talk with Jesus.

We are being walked down a path to an anti social dystopia by technology and soulless profit taking. Self checkout in a grocery store is an affront to basic humanity. Go to dorignacs and then go to Winn Dixie. One is community, the other is death.

Civil and/or mild criminal disobedience are only tools.

kitchen managers of all stripes have for forever "accidentally" made too much food near closing time, so their fat asses could take it home for themselves.

I'm looking at these managers in this video, and I'm guaranteeing these fat fricks have taken tons of food home that was "accidentally made for the last minute crowd."

the two men managers are fat frick pathetic bitches, and so is the woman in the blue shirt. Here's hoping James, the kid, puts them on blast for eating a metric ton more from those chicken pans than he ever thought about.
