Scot Peterson, the deputy, never went in after taking a position on the west side of the building, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said in a news conference.
Peterson resigned on Thursday after he was suspended by Israel pending an internal investigation into his actions, Israel said.

Mine had a 5'10" portly, mustached fellow who altered his sleeves to make his biceps look tight in them and who liked to pull his gun on kids. In his one chance to actually do something - a fist fight on the field during a football game - he was so excited about finally getting to crack a skull that he tripped and sprained his ankle on the sidelines.
