Agreed. For once in my life, I think Nancy and Chuck have right. We should not pass a stimulus/bailout bill unless the bill has specific requirements for companies receiving government cash/loans/etc including:

50% cut in pay for board members
50% cut in pay for executive management
limits on G&A reduction (workforce cuts)
Restrictions on stock buybacks
retained preferred equity for US government

You cannot inventive boards and management of corporate America to over lever, buy back stock, cut jobs, and run low liquidity positions by providing a backstop every time the system is stressed.

On the other hand, some of the stuff Pelosi tried to pack into her bill is utterly ridiculous

The Democrats had some legitimate concerns over the Republican plan. However, they were total morons to put other unnecessary shite in there. The Democrats being morons, though, does not take away from Mitch McConnell being a corrupt weasel and tool of the Koch Family Trust.

So if they are using 2018 taxes and I’m out of work now how does that work?

The last bill had some kind of additional unemployment compensation. That would probably benefit you more than a one time $1200 payment if you are out of work for any length of time.

Yes, I guess we should force every company in the world to plan and be prepared in case the government shuts them down.

So I guess you also support not helping small businesses since they clearly were over leveraged and did not have enough backstop.

It's meant to be ridiculous. Both sides do it all the time. They force the other side to reject it so then they can run to the media and say "opposite side doesn't care about you!"

It's political pearl clutching.

I thought everyone on this board was rich, why are ya'll worried about a measly $1,000.00 ?

He was spittin' mad when he saw what they was offerin'; he wasn't flattered. He said, "A measly thousand bucks for me is much too little. I'm worth a lot more than that!" He said that, and then he added the zeros on the thousand.

You’re exactly right, and both sides do engage in it but to do this during an emergency such as this is borderline treasonous. If nothing else, it just underscores how very elitist and divorced they are to average Americans they claim to represent. It’s some sick arse shite, and they all need to be held accountable for their actions during this, and will because politics and political gain goes out the window in people’s heads when they are hungry, out of work, and no place to stay. You can believe that.

I am a firm believer in the free market. Small business owners and corporations should always be prepared for worst case situations. They should have an answer and a process for situations like:

"if our revenue is down 10% this month compared to last month, we have to do xxx to stay profitable"

"if our revenue is down 50% this month compared to last month, we have to do xxx to stay profitable"

Boy is it easy to see that you aren't and never have been a business owner.

This is just crazy there are a lot of expenses you can't do that for. Rent and utilities alone could crush a business losing 50% revenue, not to mention costs of goods, etc.

ETA: a 50% profit margin is pretty awesome - I'd love to go into any sector with that kind of potential.

Exactly. If we get 20% margin on materials we're lucky.
