what 40 something years after he got her into the band? he's the only reason she got into the band and no she didn't make him play guitar. their best song is one he wrote about her crazy fricking arse.

and he was the master mind/producer of the albums that made their commercial success, mainly because he was the least fricked up on drugs at the time and able to do all of the work, while Stevie is fricking every other musician she could find, including Fleetwood, while she's still living with Buckingham

Love Stevie's voice, but I thought Christine McVie was the better of the two.

always thought her contributions were better suited in a bubble gum pop band, she wasn't a slouch, just didn't think she wa a strong member of the group

I can definitely see that. I love Fleetwood Mac so much. Definitely top 3 for me. The songs that Stevie was the lead vocals on wouldn't have fit as well with Christine singing and vice versa.

agree, they hit the lottery with that lineup, Fleetwood Mac had been around a long time before they came long, and were going nowhere

So true. It's pretty crazy to think how perfect that grouping and timing was.

And to think, Mick and the band didn't want Stevie to begin with......they only wanted Lindsey. Lindsey demanded they include her or he wouldn't join.

Wow. I never knew that! To think of the music that we would've missed out on.

Yeah, the band had an American leg of a tour for their latest album that hadn't done all that well. During their time in the states they spent time watching and listening to other bands/acts, wanting to change up their lineup a bit. Buckingham-Nicks came across their radar, and they really liked Lindsey. They met at a studio, I think, where B/N were recording songs for an album. They talked with Lindsey and offered him a spot in the band. He asked about Stevie and they told him they weren't interested in her. He had a good feeling about their latest work, and had a thing with Stevie, so he put his foot down. (I think that is how it went)

The rest is history.....a wonderful, creative, madhouse history.

Well, she did like her "rockers"…
everyone one of them basically said they had to get away from her or die from the drugs, sex and partying.

Evidently, the Anal Blowdart story is 100% true.

Of all places, Columbia, Mo., the retired tour bus driver for Fleetwood Mac owned and operated a BBQ joint BuckingHams’s. I had eaten there multiple times and never known this, I popped in one afternoon asking for a donation for my daughter’s school fundraiser. He was a bit surly and I could tell he gets hit up all the time for these types of requests, so I’m like hey, I love your BBQ and I’ll buy some lunch & beers for your trouble. We hit it off and he’s showing me all the framed pictures and the back story behind them all, strategically placed throughout the restaurant.

Awesome way to spend an afternoon.

Growing up my parents favorite band was Fleetwood Mac, so the next time they came into town for a visit. We went in for burnt ends and they came away blown away after meeting him.

I think this barely 2+ minute song shows just how ridiculously talented Buckingham was. Like many rock stars he was also a narcissist with an out of control ego. see also: Stevie Nicks

Grace Slick retired from performing at age 50, which is relatively young by today’s standards.

In an interview she stated that all rockers over the age of 50 look dumb and stupid.

Totally disagree with that. She had a wonderful voice for the right songs.

And Stevie will be in the Superdome with Billy Joel in October...
