Still trying to wrap my head around this case. They literally want criminal charges because Alton was black. If he was white this wouldn't even be a story.

Disturbing.

Is it legal for Sterling to set up a fold out table and sell bootlegged CD's outside the Triple S Mart?

So basic timeline:

- Police called about CD man with gun threatening someone
- Police arrive and order man to put hands on car
- Man does not comply
- Officers physically engage man but without success
- Salamoni pulls gun and threatens to shoot man
- Man puts hands on car
- Man attempts to remove hands from car
- Lake tases man and he goes to his knees
- Man gets to his feet and officers order him back down
- Man does not comply
- Lake attempts to tase man again without success
- Salamoni holsters gun and tackles man
- Physical altercation insues
- Verbal warnings continue
- Man's right hand is free and Salamoni yells that he's going for a gun
- Lake joins altercation and pulls gun
- Salamoni again yells that he's going for a gun and fires 3 shots
- Both officers roll away
- Man sits up and Lake yells for him to get on the ground
- Salamoni fires 3 more shots

The US attorney said he pointed a gun at Sterling's head, not that he put a gun to his head. Those two statements conjure two very different mental pictures.

This and only after Sterling refused to comply twice when ordered.

Obama's AG could have brought charges before leaving office.

We've learned, legality has nothing to do with this shooting. White shot black. Laws don't matter.

So many excuses. My, how the white man has fallen. I expect that weak shite outside the south but y'all are embarrassing. Do something already.

My house flooded and I still voted, but I'm just saying that I totally get it if people weren't concerned about a mayoral race between two terrible candidates less than 3 months after their entire lives were turned upside down.

I'm like 95% sure one of the officers said something like, "if you move again I'll fricking kill you" while they were on the ground struggling, then 2 seconds later you hear them yell gun and the shots. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's right.

Drastically different than saying they rolled up on the scene and said they would kill him, which didn't happen.

You don't understand the timeline. What you are referring to was while they were wrestling on the ground. The AG is talking about an exchange that no one has seen or heard yet because it happened before any cell phone video.

You didn't mention anything about race and those are the most important facts.

Are the actually implying that Session even looked at this case? There isn't a Sessions/Trump appointee at the Middle District right now.

The US Attorney made it clear at the press conference that every attorney and agent that worked the case agreed with the ultimate conclusion and not a single one of them was given their position by Sessions or Trump.

Police officers are allowed the right to try and "escalate" a situation with force, to try to "deescalate" a situation. They are also allowed to lie, and mislead perps I order to gain compliance.

Had a 911 call stating he had threatened someone with a gun. It was probably well known who was working that corner(Alton Sterling), and the police knew his past track record.

Hate to use the term, but "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.".

it's honestly just him pandering to a select group of students. I honestly don't give a shite what they do. Just don't involve me-- and honestly the majority of students because we don't care.

They got what they wanted, they screamed bloody murder for them to make this a federal matter and now since they don't like the results want to cry about it

Because they assumed that the feds would bring charges with Obama and Lynch in charge. But in reality, the officers were found to be justified so Obama and Lynch kicked the can so that Trump's administration could be accused of being the bad guys, racists, etc

He wasn't selling CDs. Not at 2:30 in the morning. Everybody knows this.

If they polled the Middle District I'm pretty confdent a large portion are not Trump voters/supporters, anyone saying there was a political bias involved in the decision making is an idiot.
