That MJ legacy has to die out or something.

Doesn't matter. I like Cam Newton but the truth is football players don't sell shoes and apparel. Basketball players do.

Ehh.
Let's see where we are in 15-20 years.
Jordans weren't very big until the last 5 or 10 years.
They were big, but not even remotely close to what it is now.

Ok maybe closer to 10 years than 5.
If you are questioning the sales growth since the early- mid 2000s than idk what to tell you.
10-15 years ago retros would sit on shelves. A lot of the more popular jordans today weren't big sellers when the released and when the were re released in the early-mid 2000s.

Maybe I missed something but in the 90's Air Jordans were flying off the shelves at an alarming rate..............

They were hot in the 90s but now, in a lot of instances, you can't get your hands on them....and they are producing more pairs now.
MJ has made way more money on his shoes post retirement.

I grew up with Jordan's, Bo Jackson's, etc. Call me old school but I just don't like UA.

And initially, the brand really wasn't doing so hot immediately after he retired.
The post retirement models were pretty horrible and nostalgia hadn't kicked in yet for retro releases.

Not as much with Speith. Golf wear doesn't sell close to as much as basketball shoes and apparel. Sure it's a nice get but basketball players are what make or break athletic companies.
I'd like to see some data on this before I believe it.

That was last year's low top.
This is his current shoe in low top form:

Curry is hugely important to UA, but all of these numbers thrown around are based on some funky projections.
The article states that Curry is 2nd only to Jordan in the shoe business, but that number comes from annualizing 2016s sales over the full year. Curry is expected to bring in $160M in sales for UA, but LeBron took in $340M in sales in the 12-months ending in March 2015.Curry's shoes have yet to hit that mark.
Additionally, they're presenting a "best-case" scenario where Curry's shoe sales cut significantly into Nike's share AND provide lift to every other UA segment. In fact, the current call from the analyst is a decline of 24% in UA stock under current conditions.
Curry-mania is everywhere, and I've got no problem with it, but some of these numbers and projections are incredibly difficult to support.

Please just stop, dude. You no nothing about Jordans nor the sneaker game. You linking that article proves your ignorance on the subject. It is pretty damn sad.

Should I post the Eastbay catalogs from the late 90's that had full size runs of 12's, 13's and 14's in multiple colorways for nearly 50% off original retail price?
ETA: Laney 5s for 25% off in 2001?
