An unfortunate byproduct from their initial product.

Kinda sucks for them but I don't think they are complaining too much about where it led them I suppose.

But it is a pretty obtrusive logo.

Curry admitted he is slightly butthurt over his salary, but the Under Armour deal softens the blow a lot. I wonder how much stock he has.

the deal includes ownership in the company

his stock will double in value.

When he retires he can buy a small country.

UA shoes are so ugly. The ugly logo doesn't help at all

You shut your whore mouth!

These have been my favorite pair of sneakers for the last 2 years. They don't make them anymore, other wise I'd buy another pair when these wear out. Great and comfy shoes. Actually my first and only pair of AU.

Not like you could afford shoes that cost more than 30 dollars anyway.

CTs are like 50 bucks now...In the 80's I could get them for 14 at Shoe Town...

Just think about how amazing this is. Mj is the most marketable athlete in history. Tiger is/was 2nd.

not sure if this is true...

floating around facebook, a story that Curry was going to sign with Nike, but they told him not to write his motto 'I can do all things...' on his shoes. UA not only let him do it, but also printed the slogan on his Curry 2 shoe line.

I doubt that is true. I looked it up and couldn't find anything pointing to that. All I found was that UA offered more money

I doubt that. Nike athletes write shite on their shoes all the time.

Nike caught lightning in the bottle with Jordan and they were able to build an empire off of that. A great deal of Nike's success comes from Tinker Hatfield. UA's problem is that no matter how good Curry is, he will never be what Jordan is. Jordan is a staple of pop culture. That brand and his name is ingrained in streets.

I think I read last year (might have been in the Sonny Vaccarro doc) that Nike owns like 90% of the basketball shoe market. It's so lucrative that throwing hundreds of millions at LJ/Kobe/KD is nothing. I know Adidas has large money locked up in Harden/Rose/Lillard, but I think they have sort of conceded the basketball market and care mostly about soccer. UA has great apparel and is getting better with shoes, but it will be 20 years before anyone competes with Nike. That MJ legacy has to die out or something.

Frick you, Driveman, I'm a UA fanboi, too. My point was, they don't just sponsor a million guys. They have absolutely hit it big with the select guys they've invested in and only really signed a few established athletes like Brady. They have some misses, too, like Sloane Stephens in tennis. Jury is probably out on Andy Murray, though he has made a bunch of finals in UA gear.
