However, one Graywood resident said the community was caught off guard by the April 30 announcement. Kirt Hebert said Gray Plantation's golf course was the only reason he moved to Lake Charles from Oberlin nearly two years ago.
"I feel like it's lowering my property value every day they're closed," he said. "I get it; they want to do renovations. But they shouldn't close the whole facility."
Hebert said he was disappointed that the golf course was closed, while other courses, including the Lake Charles Country Club, remained open.
"We don't need to get into the club house," he said. "Just let us get out there and play. We'll stay 6 feet apart. I can understand the gym being closed, but there's no reason we can't be playing golf and tennis."
"Meanwhile, kids were riding golf carts, people were fishing in the ponds on the grounds and driving ATVs on the greens, Hebert said. "That didn't go well with us either."

That's like a tertiary reason to move from Oberlin.

Golf courses were allowed to stay open the whole time. Wonder why they closed?

Is there something more special about the Greywood greens than any other golf course in the world?

He probably means because it is one of the few courses in SWLA people actually live on. Greywood and Westlake. All of the other courses are either casino owned or municipal courses with no or very little housing around them.

I personally witnessed a juice head in his early to mid 20s beat three older drunk guys in their mid forties at the Farm in Carencro. It was glorious as those drunk guys had been talking shite to his group since before the round in the club house.

So a the Let's Make a Deal guy beat the shite out of a hockey player; how does that help the argument?

If the course is the ONLY reason he moved there, it sounds like he has absolutely no intention of selling. Why would his property value matter now? Also, if it's for a major renovation, wouldn't this significantly increase his property value once they are done?

He should be more worried about the oilfield being dead in SWLA and what that will do to his value
