State Capitol Building

Took old MS river bridge, then to I-110 on way to LSU game yesterday. Capitol building is very prominent on that route, and I couldn’t help noticing that it could use some major pressure washing. Sides have dark stains, I guess dirt, soot, mold, etc.
Seeing as tho JBE says we have this surplus, maybe he can hire someone with a pressure washer...

Well seeing how that side of the building is downwind from an oil refinery I wouldn't expect it to be clean.

I’d be too afraid the building crumbling. Chunk we’re falling off during session so they had to build an awning.

The building is over 80 years old. Things are bound to fall off at some point in its life.
I love how people believe or think that when you build something that it will last forever with little or no maintenance.
I get a kick of the murals on the side. It shows how much of a different time we live in. There are some that expose a little too much.
I would hate to be a news crew covering a press conference on the steps and you get a side angle and right next to the guy talking is a set of exposed breasts.

They are in the process of replacing all of the stone facade, slowly. It'll look much better in about.....5-10 years.

I have no problems with breasts or the other nudity on the building. It is art.
