The worst and most scary thing that happened to me was I had things tossed at me while I was the only one home. I was a skeptic at the time, didn't believe in ghosts or an afterlife or anything, atheist. I was sitting in a chair watching TV and the first thing that flew off the fireplace mantle was a polaroid picture of my stepdad and his neice. I shrugged it off as a draft or something and put it back where it was. About 2 minutes later, the top half of a 2-piece fake flower display hopped off of the mantle and landed at my feet. Again, I was like "meh, whatever" and put it back where it was. About a minute later, the whole flower display hopped off the mantle and landed on my lap (a good 3 feet away from the mantle). At that point I ran off to bed. I was scared shitless.
Ran off to bed? that is the absolute last thing i would do.

Not a flame. It's just funny imaging the preachers i've met reading some of the stuff that's posted here.
It's all good. I don't read everything obviously but some threads catch my eye.

more stories!
and my maw maw used to have some black lady that took care of her that told me all kinda stories
apparently if you're born with some kinda veil thing over your head, like skin or something you see ghosts real good
she had a bunch of stories of seeing dead old people that she had taken care of, while sitting with the still alive spouse and etc

For you and Bama I will say that I know that these things are real. It is tough to talk about it because people make fun of you. This happened last week end. I was at a party and the husband of one of my neighbors had died about a year ago. One of his sons came to me and asked me if I believed in the after life. He already knew that I did. But he told me that his mom had told the family that is dad had appeared to her a couple of times. I told him that she wasn't the only person that I knew who claimed the same thing. He lives in a trailer on another part of the property with his wife and 3 children. He said what had him concerned was his 4 year old son on more than one occasion, told him and his wife that he could see another older man in the room with them. He said that his son hardly talks but claims to see someone else in the room with them. He wanted to know if I thought that it was his dad and should he be concerned.

What you tell them? IMO, that's not his dad but a familiar spirit possibly.

In high school we had a priest with subwoofers and other stereo equipment. We referred to him as "gangsta" priest.

I told him not to be afraid of it but not to encourage it. We can not look through a 4 year olds eyes. But again he is not the first to ell me that their child has seen something like this. I worked with a guy who after his daughter had an experience similar, changed his life and started going to church. It amazes me how many preachers out there that preach the super natural but denies it's existence when it appears.

classic sleep paralysis. happens to me. scary as shite. but this is just sleep paralysis or if you can move, then it is a variant.
When this was happening I could usually move (though I didn't really want to). Lately I have experienced actual sleep paralysis. Since I'm usually dazed and half-awake when it happens, it took a couple of occurrences for me to register what was happening. Definitely not fun, especially when you're home alone.

I've heard this as well. Supposedly, my father was born with a veil over his eyes. My grandma claims he played with ghosts during his entire toddler and early childhood.
