Battery. Also check the battery terminal connection. Tap on them w something.. Sometimes it just a loose/bad connection. If there's corrosion on the connectors pour coke/dr pepper on them & this cleans them up.

Batteries often begin to show issues during the first cold fronts. My money is on that.
Go to your nearest autozone/advanced auto. They will test it free.
Bring your wallet. They aint as cheap as they used to be.

Definitely not the alternator, because it wouldn't click at all....which is a good thing. You would be out a couple hundred bucks if that were the case.

Yeah, especially if its side posts. Those things can be tight and not make a good connection. Have someone crank the engine and try to move one cable at a time and see if it tries to crank. Only touch insulated cable.

Went to the local NAPA. Told them I need brake pads and rotors for a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500...... okay. Dude punches it up, walks to the back, come out with the parts and puts the parts in my truck.

Yea, they do go a little too far with the unnecessary questions. I can see how the engine size or model may make a difference in some parts, but the cashier should know to skip those when trying to determine the length of wiper blades or the size of headlight bulb.
The guys and even the girls at my local store are usually pretty competent.
