The one near me is probably done, it's never busy. It opened about 1 year ago when they built the new Publix.
in the space next-door, they opened a place called Barberitos Burritos. They spent a lot on the interior of that place. I have never seen a place go under that fast I don't think they made it 6 weeks.
I went in once and their menu seemed awful. Who wants a beef and blueberry burrito?

There’s a new 7 Brew here that is printing money, and building one in DeRidder less than 1/4 mile from a new Starbucks.

An iced shaken espresso is 6.85 plus tax and I always tip a buck, about 8 dollars
The nitro is 5.75

LOL at all of the people saying they burn their coffee.
That’s apparently the way people like it, because Starbucks has pretty much lapped every other coffee shop for the past 20 years!

Where is this?
In midtown Manhattan, it’s $5.45. With tax, that $5.93. I guess if you throw in a dollar for a tip, that will get you to $7. That’s in a very expensive area of the country.
Of course when you get to the more specialty drinks, prices will increase, but some people in this thread are talking about $10 cups of coffee.

Regular coffee at Starbucks is around $3-4 if I recall correctly.
The stuff that's $8 are basically like ordering a chocolate milkshake and a coffee at the local diner.
Not saying a bunch of people don't get those but it's hardly just getting a cup of coffee.
On a related topic, the real coffee rip off -- or marketing genius depending on your point of brew -- is cold brew. A much more complex brewing process just makes the coffee incredibly acidic and cost 3x as much.
The world was a better place when iced coffee was just iced coffee.
