Who should they have left off the roster to give her a spot?
She’s competing for a spot on the absolute best Women’s soccer team in the world.
Who gets bumped?

There are some non American soccer officiandos that say she is the best female Left Back(soccer position) in the world.

Yes, I'm saying that her beliefs about homosexuality could be dangerous to team chemistry.
Tell me how that is religious persecution.
The bold portion of your post fits the very definition of the word persecution. Even if it wasn't the coaches, if she was ostracized by teammates because of her religious beliefs, that is literally persecution.

That's just a very low IQ statement. You're usually better.

I know nothing about women's soccer players, outside of Alex Morgan being hot, but that would make this SO much better.

Was it her beliefs that would damage the team chemistry or not?
Probably more her actions, you know by showing her teammates she doesn't support them

hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of race or political or religious beliefs.
What part of that applies to a fringe talent not making a world cup team? Was she entitled to a spot on the roster? Was she beaten, ridiculed, harassed, etc by team members?
We may have differing opinions on hostility and ill treatment.

I’d say she is

So she has to support her teammates for being gay, but they don't have to support her for being a devout Christian?
That seems, hypocritical.

There are a couple of American soccer writers that have said similar, but have also said she didn't really elevate her game until recently.

Does that mean you can't tell me who I'm knighting for?

you keep saying people are looking for a "gotcha" when it looks like you are the one who is always waiting for a "gotcha"
When have I ever denied that?
I'm very straightforward with what I do here.

No, we don't. You just can't use the definition of persecution correctly in this instance because it doesn't fit your stance.

Right. Being left off of a roster because your teammates didn't accept your beliefs isn't facing hostility or ill-treatment.
You're on a roll.
You're on a roll.

Oh look. There's another one of the massive logical leaps you love to take.
