All 3 Dunkin Donuts locations in Baton Rouge went out of business - the last one in 2018. If you ever tried their coffee or donuts, you'd know why they failed.

quote:

A tract near the intersection of West Lee and Burbank drives has been sold for $1.5 million to a Texas fast food franchisee, who plans to put a Dunkin' on the site.

Baton Rouge hasn't had a Dunkin', previously Dunkin' Donuts, since 2018.

Tasty Delites Southeast LLC of Plano, Texas, bought the 1.2 acre site in a deal that was filed Wednesday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office. The seller was Asterrone LLC of Metairie, a group made up of the family of late auto dealer Price LeBlanc.

I guess they want to try to compete against Mary Lee and Shipley's again.

Krispy Kream is the walking dog of the coffee and doughnuts world.

Why is their retail coffee so incredibly expensive? Is it that much better than Folgers?

Folgers: $0.28/oz
Dunkin: $0.49/oz

If you want donuts, this is your approximate hierarchy in terms of taste and quality:

1. Krispy Kreme
2. Mary Lee or Shipley's
3. Literally any indie donut shop in the back corner of a run down shopping center
4. Grocery Store donuts from Albertsons, Brookshires, or any other mid market chain that doesn't try anymore
5. A deep fried piece of celery tied into a circle
6. An old tennis shoe
7. A friend's old tennis shoe
8. Dunkin Donuts

I never got the DD hype. I haven't had it often (because it sucks), but most times in my life that I have had it, it was pretty terrible.

no one goes there for the donuts. it's for the coffee.

I live in boston and dunkin donuts is the staple coffee shop over starbucks even.

I like it, it's one of my few splurges at the grocery store.

Back in the 70’s in Boston anytime we went to Dunkin Donuts it was as crowded as a McDonald’s on them cold New England winters.

Nope. And the coffee from donut shops are also watered-down cups of sadness too. People buy it because it's cheap.

This is definitely one of those chains that puts a lot more effort on marketing than they do on product quality.

No offense to you personally, but Dunkin is every bit as caustic to the culinary world as New Englanders are to the human race.

It's Dunkin now. Donuts are the worst on the planet. Coffee is decent. I used to pick up a box of joe to bring to the office from time to time for meetings with clients and it was always a hit with Rand and the other fellas

Dunkin food/donuts is terrible. I don't know why anybody would willingly eat that. Gas station day olds are better.

I thought Dunkin was just inconsistent and I happened to just try a couple of bad locations in the midwest. Then I stayed in a hotel next to one in Texas and tried it there too.

Now I'm pretty convinced that all of them are terrible. Doesn't matter where it's located. Everything they sell sucks, and their employees all seem like depressed robots.
