Does anybody know what kind or caliber firearm the officer was using?

Who the frick pushes a kid in a stroller late at night during these situations. Especially with a weeks worth of history to show what the potential outcome will be.
Probably someone wanting a quick payday at the expense of their childs well being.

Holy fricking shite... Please tell me that y'all are watching CNN
Showed video of a pro-officer protestor stating "The community doesn't understand the process.... even if they arrested the officer, they would have to release him within 24hr if they didn't charge him and the investigation isn't done"
The CNN asked her panel and the first guy said "That guy is ignorant"
Boy, this panel isn't bias at all

Thats what I don't understand about the last two nights. Instead of actually using riot troops to contain and make mass arrests like they do during G8 summits and the likes, they are just dispersing the crowd.
Would take a lot of man power, jail space, and could really turn the crowd violent and result in more killings.

Having said that - back to Ferguson - I'm now seeing reports that Brown was shot 6 times. If he was truly unarmed, the officer (or officers) will have to account for every shot and every shot will have to be justified.
That's just a tough burden, IMHO.

So wait and I'm not specifically calling you out....
So police actions do influence protestors responses?
I kept getting told that the initial use of military vehicles when the protests were peaceful wed around 4pm didn't cause any instigation

Police started gassing at about 8:30 last night just after sundown. At that point most of the peaceful protesters were still there and based on previous days the issues typically began around 12pm or much later and by that time most with no intent to cause trouble were already at home

If none were shot at the guy after he went down, why would this be a tough burden? It's obvious very few of the shots were deadly shots so this tends to go in line with the story of him charging as though he was on something and if deadly force was justified, shouldn't it be used to kill from what you said, not just slow him down?
ETA: I don't know the law here, but from what you said about deadly force being justified or not, it seems it's not excessive unless he shot after the threat ended so I'm curious to why.

I asked that last night. I was amazed at the amount of kids 12 and under out there at 9pm at night when they are supposed to start school this morning
Nobody goes to school on the first day. It's the Lou.

Sorry - I've been out of pocket - only been catching snippets until today.

Yes, but a certain group started shite at that time. They smashed the Mcdonalds windows and started approaching the police staging point.
A reaction was warranted at that point

Yeah. The rabble rousers started early last night. And they tried to be tactical. They tried to set up an ambush situation, from some reports, and they attempted to rush the command center. It was organized. At least for a group of anarcho-communists.

But with the recent revelations that he was possibly charging the officer, 6 shots is not unheard of.

exactly, it seems this argument was had last night too.. either way those hoping for the cop to be found guilty of anything are most likely going to be disappointed, and rightfully so.

I think he was responding to the "who has a kid out there" portion of the post.

Have they released the toxicology report on Michael Brown?

You mean the ones screaming no justice no peace because the cop hasn't been assumed guilty until proven innocent?

I'm just analyzing it from a practitioner's standpoint - you have to argue to the jury that an unarmed man required six bullets to stop. Not armed with a knife, a club, crowbar - ANYTHING - he required six bullets to neutralize as a threat to the officer.
Now, if it can be established that Brown continued to advance until the sixth shot - then it is justified, but, again, the credibility of this with the jury should not - in any way - be overestimated.

My views have done a 180 with all of the recent evidence.
I said I didn't see any way they could justify 5-7 additional shots, especially if they were in his back as he was running... But that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
